Christ became obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every other name.
Philippians 2:8-9

REFLECTION

Return to the Lord with all your heart.
Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
As we begin this holy season of Lent, we are invited to pause, reflect, and turn back to God with humility.
The ashes remind us of our weakness, but also of God's mercy and love.
Through prayer, fasting, and charity, may our hearts be renewed and our lives drawn closer to Him.
This is a time to let go of sin, to forgive, and to begin again in grace.

Good Friday (April 18, 2025) πŸ™

Today, we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice. Out of deep, boundless love, Jesus gave His life so that we may live.
Let us remember His sufferingβ€”and the hope that it brought to the world.

John 3:16

Usually the third Sunday of advent is know as Gaudete Sunday - 'gaudete' means rejoice. This is why today's liturgy clearly focus on joy. The basis of our joy is the nearness of the Lord's coming. The first reading begins by saying: "Sing aloud, 0 daughter of Sion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The psalm says: Shout aloud and sing praise, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. The second reading puts it this way: Brothers and sisters: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. In the gospel, Jesus' reply points towards joyful living: Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise." Joy is the flag we fly when Christ, the prince of Peace, resides in our hearts. Let us spread this joy as we reach out in love and generosity to one another, especially the poor, the aged, the vulnerable, and the abandoned. As the celebration of Christmas draws nearer, what are your plans to turn someone's sorrow into joy?My brothers and sisters, our duty is to bring: JOY, GREAT DELIGHT, and HAPPINESS to PEOPLE; To put big SMILES on people's faces. Do your plans and budget for this Christmas include all of the above? TRY AND DO SOMETHING NO MATTER HOW LITTLE PUT A SMILE ON SOMEONE'S FACE FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST AT CHRISTMAS!
