Thank you so much to everyone who supported us on Saturday. Our fundraising event raised over £350 of much needed funds. We really enjoyed meeting you all and could really feel the love and support from you all and it was great to hear your stories of your families' connections with the Society and the building over the years. We hope to serve the Society and help it to keep its place in the community for many years to come.
If you bought a sunflower and want to enter our Sunflower Competition, the instructions are below. (We did intend to give you printed instructions but our printer didn't like that idea)
The raffle has been drawn and if you have won a prize, we'll be in touch.
There are just a few more jobs to do and then we'll be able to hold our first service.

Thank you to the people on the bus who waved to me and gave me a thumbs up in support as I was making our sign. Also thanks to the man who had the car behind him pip his horn to make him move on when the traffic restarted as he was reading it. See you all a week tomorrow!

Sunflower Competition!
As part of our fundraising coffee morning (date to be confirmed but it won't be long), we are launching a sunflower growing competition. Entries will be £1.50 each and you can have 2 for £2. We are planting your sunflowers for you in small pots so you'll know you have a good start. You'll collect your baby sunflower plants and pay your entry fee at the coffee morning. (Or during the following week if you can't get there). On Sat 22nd August , you measure your sunflower and let us know how tall it is. There will be a prize for the tallest. We are planting the seeds now and we want to make sure we have enough. If you think you or the younger members of your family might want to take part, please drop a comment letting us know how many baby plants you might like ( no obligation, it's just a quick survey) so we can get it right. Don't worry if you've never grown a sunflower, they are easy and we'll give you full instructions. The sunflowers we have chosen are a special variety that grows several flowers on every plant so they'll look amazing in your garden.

Exciting news!
After a lot of work behind the scenes we are finally getting there! There are still things to do but there's a good chance that we may be able to reopen in a few weeks. Please keep an eye on this page for details.
As you can imagine, maintaining and repairing a historic listed building costs money, so we will probably be holding a fundraising coffee morning just before we open . Keep your eyes open for the announcement and come along and have a cup of coffee ( or tea) and a piece of cake, buy a raffle ticket and browse our fundraising sale. Hope to see you all soon!

For anyone not aware, due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to open the building.
Unfortunately we cannot hold services for the time being.
