Good to welcome St Mary's Catholic primary school to Walsingham Methodist Chapel as part of their residential visit to Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham (Anglican) on a very hot day. A delightful group with superb questions to keep me on my toes. Loved the practical questions on how often I change the flower water, it was seen to before I left. Great to have shared with you.

Saturday 13th and 19 pilgrims left Wells next the Sea Methodist chapel for the East Anglia Methodist District pilgrimage to little Walsingham and Walsingham Methodist Chapel. A day of walking, talking and sharing together. Good to welcome ecumenical friends. Lunch stop at Wighton Methodist chapel, home to the East Anglia Methodist Historical Society Heritage Centre. Then on to Gt Walsingham and a short stop at the Orthodox Church a former Methodist chapel. Onwards to The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham (Anglican) and a fascinating insight by the Education officer Jane. The final stop at Walsingham Methodist chapel in Little Walsingham 7 miles walked. A great day of sunshine and enjoyment.

Sunday 14th is our usual service at 4.30pm. All welcome.

Another group of youngsters (75) this time from Spalding visiting Walsingham through the Shrine Education Department. Great to show them the chapel and explain about Methodism. This was followed by a couple on holiday in the area who had rung to see if they could visit. They followed the school party.

If you are coming to the area do contact us and if we can, we will open the chapel for you. Larger parties welcome with prior notice.

So the National Pilgrimage is over. On such a hot day. The long procession and the clergy must be uncomfortable in their clerical robes. 17 people have come into Walsingham Methodist Chapel and lots of interesting conversations also held whilst in the street outside waiting for the procession.
Lots of car drivers seem unable to read signs especially the road closed ones actually in the village. A coach driver disregarded instructions and its passengers were treated to lots of reversing as it was eventually sent off back the way it came. Householders all came out concerned their property would be damaged. End of a very hot bank holiday.
