The Society of St Margaret - Walsingham

The Society of St Margaret - Walsingham We are a recognised community within the Church of England. The Society of St Margaret was founded by John Mason Neale in 1855.

We are involved in the ministry of the Shrine and the Benefice and also we welcome guests for short periods in our guest cottage. The Sisters are a Traditional Anglican Community whose daily life is centred on the Eucharist and the daily Office, from which flows our growing involvement in the ministry of healing, and reconciliation in the Shrine, the local parishes and the wider Church. We welcome

guests in our guest house for short periods of rest, relaxation and retreat, and are available to pilgrims and visitors. We also work in the Education Department in the Shrine. All are welcome to join us in Chapel:

I always love it which pilgrims tell me that they returned to give thanks for prayers answered. Today one pilgrim told me that 17 years ago she came praying for the daughter-in-law to have a baby and returned the following year to give thanks and has returned several times since then. Then a couple told me they had come to Walsingham a month ago to pray as they were having problems with their visa, and had come back today to give thanks that it has now been sorted.
Often, prayers are answered in little ways, maybe just the strength to carry on.
