Spain - is not just a holiday destination! ✈

Many of us in the UK and Ireland are familiar with Spain, but do you remember it is a mission field?

David and Samantha Gilkinson serve in Salou, Spain. David is the director of Exodus España which launched as an organisation in 2024 after many years of partnership between Exodus Northern Ireland and Spanish churches.

Their September prayer points are mainly for:

1. Radix Academy- a new training initiative to train the next generation of Spanish youth leaders.
2. The board as they continue to guide us through this pioneering phase
3. Financial stability for Exodus España and supporters

ECM Ireland in France 🇫🇷

For the past three years, Philippe and Joanne Mayhew have been working on planting a church in Provins (about an hour and a half from Paris). They have been greatly encouraged by conversions and baptisms. The church is becoming more established, and its members are being trained for service. However, they are still meeting at the Provins bowling alley. Several property acquisition projects have been rejected by the planning authorities. Let us pray that they may be able to acquire sustainable premises so that the church can be firmly established and shine throughout the region.

Who are we? 👀

ECM Ireland is part of a bigger orgnisation called ECM International. ECM’s vision is to see the peoples of Europe transformed in the name of Jesus Christ.

While ECM works mainly in Europe, we have mobilisation offices in different countries across the globe. These offices are sending workers from their countries, as well as raising and mobilising support for missions in Europe.

We also have a team of International Directors that oversee the wider work.

📖 Bible reading in Claremorris

Nicola McCracken has started reading John's gospel with a few women in the church. It is great to be able to use the church building for this. Pray for these ladies that they will grow deeper in their faith.

Jonathan McCracken hopes to develop more fellowship amongst the men in the church. There has been a summer be a men's breakfast in the church building.

🙏 Outreach in Portugal

Shane McGloin is serving part time with GBU (Grupo Bíblico Universitário) where he focuses on ministry to Portuguese and international students. This includes evangelism, discipleship and small group Bible studies.

This week he has been involved in a Young Adults camp in Palhal (16- 22 August). Give thanks for the relationships formed, the Gospel shared and for opportunities taken. Pray for follow up conversations and for these young adults to be won for Christ.

Joy in Slovenia 🥰

Goran and Metka Macura are serving in their native Slovenia and give thanks because “These people need to hear about Jesus and God has opened a door for that to begin happening.”

They are so thankful for partners that join them on this journey of serving God; recently they have been able to host a couple from California and a team from Northern Ireland. These visits and relationships have been a great source of encouragement for their church, and for them as a family. Goran and Metka say:

"they reminded us of something simple, yet profound: the Christian life is not only about knowing God's Word but also about loving His people and sharing His gospel with those around us".

Join us in celebrating with the Macua's and for giving thanks for those who partner with our missionaries and organisation.
