Tomorrow is Vision Sunday at First Lisburn — a chance to look ahead together, to think about where God is leading us, and to be reminded that whatever lies ahead, we do not face it alone.

This Sunday morning we’re taking some time to look ahead together at First Lisburn — where we believe God is leading us, what we hope the next few years might look like, and how each of us can be part of the journey.

There is so much to be thankful for, and so much still to explore.

We’ll be sharing some of the hopes and priorities that are shaping our life as a church, and there will be an opportunity to discover the different ways you might get involved — whether through prayer, pastoral care, children and young families, discipleship, welcome, community life, practical service or simply by bringing the gifts God has already placed in your hands.

This isn’t about filling rotas or putting pressure on anyone. It’s about asking together:

Where might God be calling me to join in?

We really believe there is an exciting adventure ahead of us as a church family, and we would love YOU to be part of shaping and sharing it.

On Sunday we had the joy of taking some time together as a church family to celebrate Caitlin Jones and to give thanks for all she has brought to the life of First Lisburn during her time with us.

As this season comes to an end, we are so grateful for the care, creativity and love she has poured into our children and young people, and for the many ways she has shared in the wider life of our church family.

There is always something bittersweet about the ending of a season, but we send Caitlin on with our love, our prayers and our heartfelt thanks.

Caitlin, may God bless you richly in all that lies ahead. May He guide your steps, open the right doors and continue to use the gifts He has given you for His purposes and glory.

You will always be part of the First Lisburn story, and we are very grateful that our paths have shared this season. 💛

🌱 A new season. A shared vision. A place for you.

Breakfast Church returns on Sunday 6th September at 10am—and this first gathering will be a little different.

Vision Sunday will be an opportunity for our whole church family to come together, look ahead with faith and hear more about the journey God is leading us on. Whether you regularly attend Breakfast Church or not, we would especially love you to join us. Come, pull up a chair and be part of the conversation as we step into this next season—together.

THIS SUNDAY EVENING — YOU’RE INVITED!

This Sunday night, we’d love you to join us at First Lisburn Presbyterian Church for a special evening of praise and worship.

One night. Many voices. One great God.

We’ll be joined by musicians and friends from near and far — including guests from Argentina and Spain — as we come together simply to worship Jesus, celebrate God’s goodness and lift our voices as one.

In a world that can feel busy, uncertain and noisy, this is an opportunity to stop, gather, worship and remember again the hope we have in Christ.

As summer draws to a close and a new season begins, join us at First Lisburn this Sunday, 30 August, at 11.00 am for a special service for all ages.

Change can bring a real mixture of emotions—excitement and uncertainty, joy and nervousness. Together, we’ll think about how God meets us in seasons of change, gives us courage for what lies ahead, and fills us with a joy that can give birth to a new song.

We’ll hear from some of our children, young people and teachers, and share a special prayer of blessing for everyone beginning a new school year. We’ll also hear the final message in our 'Summer in the Psalms: Songs for the Soul' series and take time to thank Caitlin as she comes to the end of her ministry with us.

Whether you’re starting something new or simply need some encouragement for the season ahead, we would love to welcome you. 💛

🎉 Only a couple of days to go until our Church Family Fun Day!

Join us this Sunday for a short, family-friendly worship service at 11.00 am, followed by an afternoon of delicious food, fun, games and plenty of time to relax and connect with people of all ages at Trevor and Louise McWatter’s home from 12.30 pm.

To all the young people receiving GCSE results tomorrow—and to the families, teachers and friends supporting them—we are thinking of you!🙏

For some, there will be celebration and relief; for others, disappointment, uncertainty or difficult decisions about what comes next. Whatever is written on the page, please remember: your results are only one part of your story. They do not define your worth, your gifts or the person you are becoming.

At First Lisburn, we believe that every person is deeply known and loved by God, and that in Jesus there is hope for every step of life’s journey—even when the way ahead feels uncertain.
