St Peter's Youth SPY

St Peter's Youth SPY SPY is the youth group of St Peter in Eastgate Church and St Peter in Carlton in Lincoln SPY is for 11-15s and SPY HD is for 15-18s. We'd love you to join us!

SPY meets every Sunday evening in termtime at 7pm at St Peter in Eastgate Church in Lincoln. We get up to all sorts of things: music...games...outings...Bible.

TODAY WE REMEMBER: Our Lord rose from the dead, and we are promised life in him! Jesus didn’t just come to take our sins away - but in his RESURRECTION he shows his power over LIFE and DEATH. That is why we have confidence to say:
“Where O death is your victory?!
Where O Death is your sting!?
..But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Cor 15:55-57)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, we need not be afraid of death, disease, or turmoil, for we have LIFE evermore because Jesus is alive 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thinking today about our SPY PM study a few weeks back on Joseph (Gen 37-50). He faced SO many troubles and hardship: his brothers hated him conspired to kill him, but sold him into slavery instead, was wrongfully accused and thrown into prison for years, and then thrust into a scary position of power to a Pharaoh not known for mercy! BUT the Bible is CLEAR that Lord was WITH HIM at EVERY POINT. The Lord knew what plans he had for Joseph, that he would be the governor of the land and the reason Egypt would survive the famine, that Joseph’s brothers would come to Egypt and grow to be a great nation, etc. Jospeh didn’t know all this when he was sitting at the bottom of the well, wondering if his brothers would kill him. But he trusted God would work it for his good, for the Lord is known for his loving-kindness, his steadfast love. We just need to trust Him. 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
