Dear friends (apologies for the length of this)
This is likely to be my last post on this forum, as we take our leave from Colsterworth on Tuesday, moving so that I can take up a new role in southern Derbyshire.
I have been the vicar here for nearly 5 years, and having arrived fresh out of the role when I completed my training, I have learned lots and grown a great deal. All this is thanks to you all, who have allowed me the space to be your vicar in my own way, being able to try new and different activities and services, in this traditional and beautiful part of the world.
Not everything has gone perfectly, but some things have worked well, and I have always tried to be the vicar for the whole community, not just those who come to and support the church.
I will always be grateful for all that you have done and said, for all the encouraging words and for all your love and care. I move on to new pastures, having massively gained from my time here with you, even though my move from here is happening a long time before I expected it to.
I will always remember, and be grateful, for the time I’ve spent here, and I will continue to remember you all in my prayers, even when I am far away.
With love and prayers for you all. Revd. Neil.

Dear friends and neighbours
I announced a few weeks ago that I would be moving from Colsterworth, to be the vicar for Wirksworth in Derbyshire.
The time for moving is coming closer, and my final Sunday service in Colsterworth will be a service of Holy Communion, held at 11am on 7th May, at the parish church.
We will be celebrating 5 years of ministry, so come along if…
· Either you or your child(ren) have been baptised at this church
· We’ve connected with you through a funeral for a friend or loved one
· You’ve been married (or attended a wedding) in our church
· You’ve come to, or been involved in, one of our children’s activities
· You’ve been helped to access food, or other help
· You’ve joined in one of our acts of social justice, when we’ve worked together to help others
· You’ve enjoyed one (or more) of our Christmas or harvest services or celebrations
· You’ve taken part in our Remembrance and/or our All Souls services
· You’ve enjoyed a conversation with me, or
· Maybe just to wish me well or make sure I’m really going.
Whatever your reason, we hope that you are able to join us, and engage in the service as much as you feel comfortable with.
All are invited and all are very welcome!

We are delighted to be able to welcome Bishop David (Bishop of Grimsby) to Colsterworth parish church on Sunday, for our 11am service of Holy Communion.
Bishop David will be sharing some thoughts on our bible reading for the day, the story of the journey to Emmaus, when 2 followers of Jesus met him on their journey, after his resurrection, and didn't immediately recognise him.
The photo shows David in more relaxed mode.
All are invited to join us, and all are welcome.
We hope to see you!

We meet tomorrow (Easter Sunday) to celebrate the Risen Jesus Christ, to hear the Easter story once more, and to think again about the good news it brings for all of us.
You are invited and very welcome to join with us, at 11am at Colsterworth Parish Church.
You will find there many who want to contemplate the events of Easter weekend 2000 years ago, and many who are wanting to find out more.
All are invited and all are welcome!

Ladies and gentlemen.
We will NOT be collecting goods to help the situation in Syria and Turkey at Colsterworth parish church.
We are trying to find out where locally is, and will publicise this information when we know.
If you know of somewhere locally that is collecting, please share the information, so that others can also help.
