It’s Local Council Clerk Week!! (8–12 June 2026) — a chance for parish clerks to reflect on the work we do behind the scenes. As Clerk (Emma) and Assistant Clerk (Georgina) at Branston & Mere, we keep council meetings running, look after the finances and paperwork, support councillors, help residents with queries, and organise events that bring the community together. It’s a busy, varied job and we love it — thanks for your support. — From Em & Georgina

**CALLING ALL BRANSTON & MERE RESIDENTS** IMPORTANT PUBLIC MEETING!!

Public Meeting – Woodland Pathways at Vedanta (formerly Branston Hall)

Residents are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss the woodland pathways on the edge of Vedanta (previously Branston Hall), which have historically been used for walking by local people.

The purpose of the meeting is to gather the views, thoughts, and opinions of residents on whether there is support for pursuing the designation of these paths as Public Rights of Way.

Residents are welcome to bring along any evidence of use of the paths dating back 20 years or more, including photographs, maps, statements, or other relevant information.

Please note that access to the pathways may potentially be restricted or denied in the future through the use of fencing or other measures, which is one of the reasons residents may wish to consider whether formal Public Rights of Way applications should be explored.

Please also note that this meeting is not being held under the authority of the Parish Council. It is being coordinated independently in response to requests from residents to help collate local views and discuss what, if any, action the community wishes to take regarding the pathways and potential Public Rights of Way applications
