The present United Reformed Church at Garmston Street, Lincoln was founded following a union of the formed St Andrew’s Presbyterian and Newland Congregational churches in 1974, after the establishment of the United Reformed Church of the United Kingdom in 1972. In 2003, at the time of the 40th anniversary, it was decided to change the name of the church from St Andrew’s with Newland URC to Trinity
URC. There are two local churches of the URC, namely Trinity URC and Ermine URC and together with St Columba’s LEO (Local Ecumenical Project) they form the Lincoln Group of United Reformed Churches in Lincoln. In 1997, Trinity URC established a partnership link with Pauluskirche in the Hambach district of Lincoln’s twin city Neustadt an der Weinstraße and exchange visits by members of each congregation take place on alternate years
