We recently launched a substantial history (166 pages) of Limpsfield Church, authored by historian, Dr Nicholas Dixon. If you wish to have a copy, please let us know at [email protected] (£10 suggested donation plus P&P).

Dr Dixon casts new light on the history of both church and village from the medieval period, through the dramatic Reformation and Cromwellian periods up to the present, including surprising discoveries...

The first rector was also Chancellor of the University of Oxford, and another a Canon of Rouen in France. One Rector was annoyed by a villager who called himself ‘Elias the Prophet’. A medieval King sent a gift of venison to the Rector. And he reveals the
Limpsfield tradition of hanging a loaf in your house on Good Friday for good health. There’s much, much else besides….

Join us on Friday 18th September at 7.00pm as we celebrate the book launch of the 'History of St Peter's Church', written by Dr Nicholas Dixon. Nicholas will be giving a talk in the church and there will be w**e served after. All are welcome, no need to book.

The substantial volume casts new light on history of church and village from the 12th century onwards. It takes us through the dramatic changes of the Reformation and Cromwellian periods up to the present, including many surprises...

Keep Limpsfield Blooming 🌸🌼🌹🌺🌳

Come and spend an hour looking round Limpsfield Village this Saturday afternoon. The village is looking lovely despite the hot weather!

Why not have a look at the books in the old telephone box, which now include some children’s books.

Take a stroll to the River Eden at the bottom of the high street, where the elves have put in place two log seats under the willows at the bottom of the first set of steps - these go with with the splendid elves house on the left bank of the river.

Then wander up to the Glebe Meadow to see the Limpsfield Fitness building which looks great.

And do join us for refreshments in St Peter’s Hall from 3pm, where Charlie Jarrett will have an exhibition of unique Limpsfield photos.

We'll be getting creative with a giant spaghetti, marshmallow and sweet-building challenge, where everyone will work together to build their own church! It's a great morning for all ages, whether you're coming on your own, with friends, or bringing the whole family.
