Tomorrow marks Remembrance Sunday in the United Kingdom. May me never forget the sacrifice of so many for our civil and religious liberty accross this kingdom.

"Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Today is a very sad and bewildering day in the history of the United Kingdom. The monarch and the church of England leadership have purposed to speerhead a renewed counter reformation in support of the roman system. This attempt to appear united and ecumenical is an abominable act of treachery towards those who gave their lives in the defence of Protestantism and a reformed understanding of Gods plan of salvation. Not only is it an affront to the Word of God but furthermore injurious to the person of Christ the only King and head of the church. King Charles and the papacy are two sides of the one coin. God save the King has now come into its own more than ever. Thank God that pretend kings and rulers one day will bow the knee to Christ either willingly or be forced to do so.

The following hymn by John Newton reminds us of what lies ahead for the papacy, for king Charles, and for every denier of Christ Jesus.

Day of judgment! Day of wonders!
Hark! the trumpet's awful sound,
louder than a thousand thunders,
shakes the vast creation round.
How the summons
will the sinner's heart confound!

As we remember Orange Victims Day 1st September, our community has on too many occasions paid the ultimate sacrifice at the hands of wicked terrorists, who are perpetually unrepentant, about anything which they committed. However, we have an enduring message for them, the sacrifice of so many Protestants to keep our country safe will never be forgotten.

Gods word reminds us about how we must face the enemy, and in the context of the passage, Israel facing the perceived might of Egypt.

"For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory."

(Deuteronomy 20:4)

Everyone in our district will be sorry to hear of the passing of the Rev Martin Smyth a former grand master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time

Tomorrow in the Maiden City the 336th celebration of the Relief of Derry will take place.

The cry of No Surrender the watchword of the Apprentice Boy defenders sustained them for 105 days through the longest seige in British history.

The Word of God reminded the people of Israel

"For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory."

(Deuteronomy 20:4)

As we celebrate the Relief of Derry help us to do so knowing Christ to be our Saviour, redeemer, and substitute.
