Just what is a church verger…well ask Di Proctor she’s been doing it as St John’s for around 20 years. Now she’s decided to take a rest and it was a ‘thank you’ presentation at today’s 10am Fountain service - flowers and chocolates.

Will you respond to the call to pray?

This Sunday, members of local Church of England churches will gather at St John the Baptist, Shenstone for a special “Praying for Gold” afternoon of prayer for renewal, mission, and revival across our communities.

🕞 Refreshments in church from 3.30pm
🙏 Prayer & worship from 4.00–6.00pm

The afternoon will include sung worship, vision sharing, and opportunities for both quiet personal prayer and praying with others in small groups. No pressure — simply space to seek God together.

Whether for the whole afternoon or just part of it, you are warmly welcome.

What a joy it was on Sunday morning as Sue was baptised by full immersion!

Earlier in the service Sue shared movingly about the difference Jesus has made in her life over recent months, and how becoming part of the church family at St John’s has been helping her grow in faith. It was a real encouragement to hear her story.

Pictured is the moment of baptism, with Revd Jonathan being assisted by Sue’s grandson — a very special moment for the whole family and our church community.

We thank God for Sue and continue to pray for her as she follows Jesus. 🙏💧
