Yesterday we were joined by friends from Midge Hall and Whittle for an all-age worship, exploring the story of Jesus walking on the water.

Gill encouraged us to listen for God in the quiet, and reminded us that when we feel afraid, Jesus is always with us.

We made origami boats and filled them with prayers for people who might particularly need to feel Jesus’ presence and calmness today.

“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Matthew 14: 27

Today we are thinking about all of the young people receiving their GCSE results.

For some, today will bring celebration and exciting plans. For others, the path ahead might look a little different than expected.

Whatever today brings, we pray that every young person will step into what comes next with hope- knowing there is more than one path to a bright future. 🙏🏻

Yesterday in worship we highlighted the work of Action for Children and reflected on what it really means to welcome someone.

In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus brings a child into the middle of his disciples and takes them in his arms. We thought about how that child might have felt in that moment- noticed, valued, included, loved- and Jesus’ words that whoever welcomes a child in His name welcomes Him.

We also heard about the work of Action for Children and the sobering reality that 27% of children in the UK are living in poverty.

As we considered what it means to be truly welcomed, we were challenged to think about how we can offer that same welcome to others.

What does it mean to truly welcome someone?

Thinking today of all the young people receiving their results- whatever they may be feeling, and whatever comes next.

We hold them, their families, teachers and all those supporting them in our prayers 🙏🏻

Yesterday our Local Arrangement was led by Dan and Naomi, as we explored what it means to be a good neighbour.

Through the parable of the Good Samaritan, we reflected on who our neighbours are, and how we can show love and compassion to those around us.

As part of our worship, we each made a card and shared a prayer for someone who has been a good neighbour to us. ❤️
