Mission Day was incredible over 120 people in church this morning and even more joining us afterwards for food, fun and proper community spirit. St Ambrose at its absolute best.

If you missed this morning, don’t worry you’re still so welcome.

Tonight at 6pm, we’ve got refreshments, followed by our Open Table inclusive communion service. A gentle, affirming space where everyone is welcome, valued and loved exactly as you are.

🌸 Parishes in Bloom — Thank You, Ladies! 🌸

What a brilliant effort from our wonderful St Ambrose ladies who created and set up our display for Parishes in Bloom at Blackburn Cathedral. The creativity, colour and care they put into it really shines through and these photos show just how much love went into representing our church and community.

From the handmade models, to the bees, flowers, choir scene, and all the little touches that make people smile… it’s a beautiful showcase of St Ambrose at its best.

Thank you for giving your time, talent and energy we’re so proud of you and grateful for everything you do.

The exhibition has now finished, but we’re delighted St Ambrose was part of it and so well represented within the Diocese of Blackburn.

Sunday 13 September, Come and Join the Celebration!

We’re throwing open the doors for a day of joy, laughter, and community!
Join us for our Community Celebration Service at 10.30 am, followed by a free lunch and loads of fun for all ages. Expect great food, music, crafts, face painting, and a bouncy castle plus the brilliant ‘Strummers & Warblers’ Ukulele Band and a few surprises along the way.

It’s all completely free, just come as you are, bring a friend or neighbour, and be part of something special.

GCSE Results Day can feel like a rollercoaster, so to all our young people opening envelopes today we’re right behind you.

Whether you’re buzzing, relieved, confused, or a bit disappointed, every feeling is completely normal. Your grades don’t define you. Your kindness, your character, your effort, and your future matter far more.
We’re praying for you today. May you feel proud of how far you’ve come, and hopeful for what’s ahead.

🎉 FREE Quiz Night – Let’s Have Some Fun!

We’re buzzing for our FREE Community Quiz Night on Friday 11th September, and you’re all invited! It’s going to be a proper feel‑good evening at The Halls 4 All, Moss Lane, Leyland, full of laughs, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles.

We’ve got:
• a lively quiz with fun challenges
• free hot dogs and veggie options (served 6pm–6.30pm)
• a warm, relaxed atmosphere for all ages
• a space where everyone is welcome, no matter who you are or where you’re from

Just turn up, join in, and enjoy the night. Bring your friends, bring your family, or just bring yourself, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

☕✨ A Thursday Afternoon Filled With Welcome

Last Thursday, after the morning service, we shared a really lovely afternoon tea together all made possible by the Thursday Club donations and a brilliant team of volunteers who collected and prepared the food.

We had a proper spread: sandwiches, samosas, pies, sausage rolls, crisps and cakes. But the best part wasn’t the food, it was the feeling in the room.

It was warm, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. People chatting, laughing, checking in on one another. New faces, familiar faces, and people who just fancied a bit of company.

This is what we want our church to be known for: a place where everyone is welcome, no matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or whether you’ve been through the door a hundred times or it’s your first time. A place where you can just be yourself and feel part of something.

These little gatherings are becoming a lovely part of our church life, and they’re open to absolutely everyone. Come along, pull up a chair, and join us.
