DO YOU NEED AN (OCCASIONAL) REHEARSAL OR CONCERT VENUE?

Have you considered a church?

St. Anne's regularly plays host to concerts and other events throughout the year, both from local choirs and orchestras to those from further afield.

The Festival of Song concerts, Lewes BaroqueFest, plus the monthly lunchtime concerts are all at St. Anne's. Last December Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra used St. Anne's as one of the venues for its sell out "A Christmas Carol" evening featuring Alistair McGowan.

The Church can seat 200 people comfortably with both pews and seats (although some pews have restricted view). Plus there is standing room at the back. We have excellent acoustics, but a sound system is available if required.

Situated in the town (almost opposite the Pelham Arms) there are bus stops next to/opposite the church for both Brighton and Uckfield/Crowborough/ Tunbridge Wells. The railway station is a 10 minute walk away. There is nearby on-street parking and behind the church the car park of the headquarters of the County Council is available for free in the evenings. We also have a disabled ramp for easy access.

Although we a church in a town we look like a traditional village church with the surrounding graveyard (still in use).

WANT TO MAKE YOUR EVENT MORE SPECIAL? We have a modern kitchen for food preparation, with an induction hob, eye-level oven and a microwave is available if required. So food and drink can be provided to your guests (you will need to arrange your own licence if selling alcohol). If you need caterers we can recommend a firm.

If you would like more information, then please contact Ashley Price, Churchwarden at: [email protected]

We are very proud to support the excellent and much needed work that FSW Family Support Work carry out to help children and families in Sussex who are struggling! ๐Ÿ˜Š

โ™ป๏ธ Got a Recycle4Charity Ink Cartridge box yet? Email [email protected] to get one!

Thanks to St Anne's Church, Lewes and Ashley for placing a box in their church, making it super easy for congregation members to recycle their used ink cartridges and support Family Support Work at the same time. What would usually end up in the bin is turning into funds to help families across our Sussex! ๐Ÿ’š

Thanks to the donations we and others gave to FSW Family Support Work in the run up to Christmas, F.S.W. were able to help so many children and families, like the child of the family in this video!

Imagine having to flee your home country, arriving in Britain and not having anything to be able to give your children for Christmas ๐Ÿ˜ข... then this happens! ๐Ÿ˜

A truly wonderful evening with Brighton Philharmonic and Alistair McGowan with their "A Christmas Carol Concert".

Photos 1 & 2 - Our Chancel slowly being transformed into a stage for Alistair and the quintet from the B.P.O. (Gill of B.P.O. for scale).

Photo 3 - Alistair and the musicians rehearsing.

Photo 4 - The Church filling up with people. B.P.O. told us the concert was sold out almost as soon as it was advertised.

Photo 5 - The Chancel slowly being returned to normal.

We thank all the behind the scenes people for their care and attention with us being a Church and working with respect around the complexities of our building.

Absolutely amazing!

When we started appealing for Christmas gifts, toys and food for FSW Family Support Work we hoped we'd fill two large boxes...

We have far exceeded that, with THREE BOXES, SEVEN BAGS and we're still overflowing!

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated to the appeal!

Everything will be collected by F.S.W. on Tuesday and taken to be sorted, gifts and toys wrapped, and then distributed to families in Sussex who will be struggling this Christmas!
