Although regular services have ceased following the death of Fr. Michael Mowbray Silver, we are glad to announce our first Mass for the new year, which shall take place this Saturday the 10th of January, on the occasion of the Epiphany.
Please join as at 11 a.m. at St. Alban's and St. Henry's -- yet do make sure to be dressed for cold weather!

"When Thou, O Lord, wast baptised in the Jordan,
The worship of the Trinity was made manifest;
For the voice of the Father bore witness to Thee,
Calling Thee His beloved Son,
And the Spirit, in the likeness of a dove,
Confirmed the truth of His word.
O Christ our God,
Who hast appeared and enlightened the world,
Glory be to Thee."

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our parish priest, Fr. Michael Silver.
Fr. Michael was a faithful and Spirit-filled warrior for Christ, and a dear mentor and friend to us and many others. After 31 tireless years of leading the faithful in worship at our Letchworth parish, he has been summoned to dwell with his Lord and ours, awaiting the General Resurrection with the blessed hope of everlasting life.

Though we cannot guarantee any future plans for our church, we will announce any such plans in due time.

We will endeavour to publish details of his obsequies when possible. Meanwhile, please pray for the repose of his soul, and for good comfort and strength to his widow and friends. Pray also for our parish, that it may continue serving Christ in gladness and humility, despite the problems of dispersion and attendance.

O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, grant rest unto the soul of Thy departed servant Fr. Michael in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon every transgression which he hath committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For Thou art a gracious God and lovest mankind; because there is no man who liveth yet sinneth not, for Thou only art without sin, Thy righteousness is to all eternity, and Thy word is truth.
For Thou are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Thy servants who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Dear friends and brethren,
Holy Week is upon us; we thus pray upon all of you a blessed Eastertide, that we should all be humbled and renewed to greater faith and obedience to Jesus Christ, Lord and King, through the commemoration of His holy and sorrowful Passion, and a greater joy for His eternal Kingdom through the hope of the bodily Resurrection, and the proclamation of the offering of repentance and salvation to all mankind.
