Parish Newsletter – Corpus Christi Sunday (7th June 2026)

As we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we are reminded of the precious gift of the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith. This week's newsletter is filled with parish news, upcoming events, opportunities for prayer and fellowship, and details of celebrations taking place across St Machan's, St Dominic's and St Paul's.

We give thanks to everyone who helped make the First Holy Communions such a special occasion and keep all our young people, parish volunteers, the sick and housebound, and those who have died in our prayers.

Please take a few moments to read the newsletter and stay connected with all that is happening in our parish community. May the Body and Blood of Christ strengthen and nourish us as we continue our journey of faith together.

Gospel of the Day (John 6:51-58)

Jesus said to the Jewish crowds: "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."

📖 Our latest Parish Newsletter is now available.

This weekend we celebrate Trinity Sunday and give thanks for the many blessings within our parish community. We especially keep in our prayers all of the children who have received their First Holy Communion, along with their families, as they continue their journey of faith.

The newsletter includes parish news, upcoming events, Mass times, feast days, parish updates, and opportunities to come together in prayer and fellowship throughout the week.

Please take a few moments to read the newsletter and stay connected with all that is happening across St Machan's, St Dominic's and St Paul's.

As always, thank you for your continued support, prayers and commitment to our parish family.

🙏 "Our mission as one parish community is to thrive in faith with God and to live our lives through the teaching of the Gospel of Jesus."

May God bless you and your loved ones this week.

✨ Congratulations to all the children of our parish who received their First Holy Communion this weekend. ✨

This is a very special milestone in their faith journey, and we are delighted to celebrate with them, their families, and our parish community.

May the love of god remain close to them as they continue to grow in faith, hope, and love. Let us keep all of our First Communicants in our prayers as they take this important step in their spiritual lives.

Thank you to our clergy, catechists, teachers, volunteers, and families who helped prepare the children for this joyful occasion.

God bless our First Holy Communion children today and always. 🙏⛪💛

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION SUNDAY 7TH JUNE

I would like to give you advance notice of this year's Corpus Christi procession and warmly invite you to be part of this joyful celebration.
This year, we shall gather at the Grotto where the entire procession will take place. We will begin at 3:00pm and conclude at approximately 4:00pm, with prayers, hymns, and Benediction at the Grotto of Massabielle.

This is a special occasion for everyone—parishioners and visitors alike. A particularly warm invitation is extended to families with children who have recently made their First Holy Communion. First communicants are encouraged to wear their First Communion clothes.

We very much hope for good weather and sunshine on the day, and even more so, that many of you will be able to join us for this beautiful act of devotion, as together we honour the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and celebration.

Today we celebrate the mystery of one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

'Blest be God the Father,
and the Only Begotten Son of God,
and also the Holy Spirit,
for he has shown us his merciful love'

Gospel of the Day (John 3,16-18)

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
