A Bible Study Day is arranged for 21st February at 82 Albert Road, Levenshulme, Manchester, UK. The planned topic is ‘Set Free, Set Apart’ – a study of Moses and the Exodus.
Starting promptly at 10.00am, we are anticipating a full programme that includes Bible study, discussion, talks, group tasks, singing and fellowship.
We aim to unpack the historical and geographical context of the book of Exodus where some would challenge that the events could actually have happened; to explore how Moses stood against the superpower of the Ancient Middle East; to show how the early chapters of Exodus repeatedly demonstrate the sovereignty of God; to begin to get to know Moses as the friend and servant of God; to discuss the extensive responsibility that Moses carried in his role as leader of a nation; and finally we’ll hear how the Israelites had to learn to be the people of God, distinct from all the other nations.
We’re looking forward to hearing from various contributors including Stephen McCabe from Belfast. As last year, this study day is intended to cater for everyone.
There will be no charge for the day, but we are asking those who wish to come to sign up by 6th February. This is to inform practical arrangements for catering, to facilitate group activities and to ensure we have sufficient group leaders, etc.
