“Tu es sacerdos in æternum…” Monsignor Gordon Read celebrates his Golden Jubilee of Ordination at the Catholic Church in Kelvedon where he is Parish Priest and Chancellor of our Diocese. Msgr Gordon is a native of Leigh-on-Sea and was Ordained in our church on 31st July 1976.
This message from the Bishop was read at the end of the Mass of Thanksgiving:
Dear Fr Gordon,I much regret that I am unable to join you today, but I assure you of my prayers and my gratitude as you celebrate fifty years of Priesthood. You are a much-loved Parish Priest, a pre-eminent Canon Lawyer and Chancellor of the Diocese. Your generosity and pastoral sensitivity are immense gifts to the Diocese and the wider church. May God bless you and reward you abundantly for your years of faithful priestly ministry.
