IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT — PLEASE READ
As the schools go back this week, we wanted to share a reminder about children attending Groby URC.
We want there to be absolutely no confusion about what is, and is not, acceptable when children are in worship.
The following policy has always applied & will continue to apply when you are attend one of our services, NO exceptions:
Children who whisper during the sermon will be welcomed in 🗣
Children who wriggle will be welcomed in.🤸
Children who drop things, rustle packets, ask questions at full volume and need the toilet at precisely the wrong moment will be welcomed in.💬
Babies who cry from start to finish will be welcomed in.👶
Toddlers who escape from their parents will be welcomed in.👣
Children who sing when everyone else has stopped will be welcomed in.🎶
Children who wander up the front to see what’s happening will be welcomed in.🚶♀️
Children who laugh, chatter, fidget, wander, squeal — and even scream — will be welcomed in.😆
In fact…
Children are not simply “allowed” in church.
They are WELCOME. ALWAYS.....
Because a church with the sound of children in it is a church filled with life.
Parents and carers: please don’t spend Sunday morning worrying that your child is disturbing us. They are not!! Please don’t feel embarrassed if they make a noise. Please don’t feel that you need to disappear out the door at the first sign of a wobble.
Come in, sit down, Breathe!
Let them be children.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”
And we rather think He meant it.
And, just in case there was any doubt…
their grown-ups are very welcome too.
Church is family. And family is sometimes noisy, but it is also filled with love ❤️
