5pm Choral Evensong - One of the most beautiful services in the Anglican Church. If you haven't been to a choral service, this is a must.

This weekend, 6th and 7th June, is the Riverside Festival.

As well as the music, arts and crafts, Dragon Boat races, street food and funfairs, St Mary de Castro Church will be open!

Come and join us on Saturday at 11am to listen to the Leicester Youth Chorus performing ‘Take Flight.

At 12 noon the church bells will ring to mark the official opening of the festival.

We will mark the close of the festival at 5pm on Sunday with a Choral Evensong. All are welcome to attend, even if you have never been to church before.

So, please do come and visit the church where King Richard III worshipped and King Henry VI was knighted. Enjoy a quiet pew, admire the magnificent stained glass, explore the gargoyles and discover historic gravestones.

We will be open from 12 - 6pm on Saturday and from 12 until 5pm on Sunday serving tea and coffee and delicious cakes.

Riverside Festival 6th and 7th June

The Leicester Riverside Festival returns on 6 & 7 June to the heart of the city for a weekend packed with music, food, arts, family fun and waterside activities.

St Mary de Castro will be open during the Riverside Festival for visitors to enjoy our amazing church. There will be volunteers to welcome guests and a cafe to provide refreshments. We will be open on:

Saturday 12 noon – 6pm
Sunday 1.30pm – 5pm

On Saturday 6th June at 11am there will also be a concert by the Leicester Youth Chorus performing ‘Take Flight’, conducted by Will Welsford.

At Noon, the church bells will be rung to start the Festival.

The weekend will finish with a Choral Evensong at 5pm on Sunday 7 June in the church. All are welcome to attend, even if you have never been to church before.
