The Eid Prayer & Festival EPF is on Friday 20 March at Victoria Park LE1 7RY.
The Eid Prayer is at 9am followed by the Eid Speech, then festival for three days Friday 20 March to Sunday 22 March inclusive.
This event is for men, women and children. It a whole family event.
The Park & the marquee are wheelchair accessible. There are also male & female disabled toilets.

📣 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Alhamdulillah, most of of the preparatory works at Masjid-us-Sunnah has been completed.

The Masjid at the Rear of 252-258 Knighton Lane East LE2 6FU is now OPEN for regular prayer.

I am very pleased to invite you all for prayers at Masjid-us/Sunnah as usual.

Assalamu Alaykum all Brothers & Sisters

As you know, we have now obtained the LCC approval of our Masjid’s new site at Knighton Lane East and we must move quickly to the renovation stage so that we can open the Masjid asap.

In my view, the ex-Rugby Clubhouse as it is now is in an unusable state.
We have to make radical renovation including nocking down the wall partitions, re wiring and plumbing for heating and water and complete internal decoration, lighting and carpeting.

So far, two builders viewed the property and we are waiting for their and probably other builders formal quotes. However, one of these builders gave me a quick and rough estimation at £60-100K.

Frankly, we do not have enough fund as the costs of the legal and planning application processes were very high and depleted our budget significantly. For your information, the legal and planning processes, excluding the architect fee which has not been invoiced yet, cost well above £40K.

We need to start an extensive fundraising as follows:
- on a short term, we have to collect about £100K so that we can start the renovation. Our aim is that we open the building for worshiping as a Masjid either asap now or by February 2026 or just before next Ramadan. We shouldn’t miss the opportunity of Ramadan and its Barakah.
- ⁠on a middle term, we have to make sure that we have enough monthly fund to pay off the rent (>£2000), deposit, utility bill and the insurance.
Therefore, I would urge you to consider donating regularly by standing order. We must have at least a 100 brothers & sisters who will pay a minimum of £50 monthly each by standing order for year or two or until the Masjid becomes self-sufficient. If you are able to pay more than £50 a month please do. Please send me a private message to let me know what you intend to do and how much you intend to donate monthly.

Please remember that “Whoever builds a house of Allah, ie, a masjid Allah will build for him/her a house in Jannah (paradise) (Authentic Hadith-Saheeh-ul-Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim). The houses of Jannah are not like the houses of Dunya. The houses of Jannah are built from gold and silver bricks and the cement between them is musk (Authentic Hadith).

This year’s Eid-ul-Adha festival, celebrating the completion of Hajj (Pilgrimage) , returns to Victoria Park for its 11th year. Spanning three days – starting on Friday 6 June, the event promises a vibrant mix of fairground rides, delicious food, stalls, games, sports, and live vocal Islamic Nasheed. Day one runs from 9am to 8pm, and day two and three from 12pm to 7pm. Entry is free, with optional donations, and everyone is warmly invited to join the festivities!

*IMPORTANT REQUEST - URGENT ACTION REQUIRED FOR THE NEW MASJID-US-SUNNAH AT KNIGHTON LANE EAST

Assalamu Alaykum everybody
I pray to Allah SWT to keep you well.

This is a gentle reminder that the consultation period for our planning application will end on this Thursday 22 May 2025. If any one of you has not posted his/her support on the planning portal please do this now.

On Friday 9 May, the planning portal has been and it showed a number of negative comments (Objections or implied objections) against our planning application to change the use of the Alystonians Rugby Football Club Building at the rear of 252-258 Knighton Lane East LE2 6FU from community centre F2 to a worship place F1.

If you live within Knighton, Knighton Fields, Ayleston, Saffron Lane areas or within LE2 area in general
Now we need your support.

If you live outside these areas you can still write but please justify why you think you have to support a masjid outside your catchment area, for instance, you can say “Although I live outside LE2 I work in Knighton or LE2 and I need a mosque in this area to pray on Fridays. This is why I think it is justified for me to make my representation on the planning portal”.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 Announced for 30th March

The Eid Prayer and Festival is on Sunday 30 March For two days in Victoria Park Leicester LE1 7RY.

There is one Eid Prayer on Sunday at 9am summertime followed by the Eid Speech.

his event is for the whole family: men, women and children. It is open free of charge to all people of all ages and all backgrounds.

Entry by donation.
