A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the Panthic Meeting on Kakkar Protection last week at Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurudwara, Leicester.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on the sadness felt across the community following the tragic loss of Henry Novak, discuss the significance of the Kirpan, current legislation, community responsibility and how we can continue working together to promote understanding and cohesion.

A strong message emerged throughout the event: there is no place for racism, hate crimes, or prejudice in our communities, and we must stand united against all forms of discrimination.

Thank you to Sukhjeet Singh, Amandeep Singh, Kav Singh, Monty Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Kartar Singh, Gurnam Singh, Satwinder Singh Deol and Raj Manvinder Singh for organising and leading the discussion.

Thank you also to Shockat Adam MP Leicester South, Christine from Stand Up To Racism, Sital Singh Gill, Ismail Shaffi from the Council of Mosques Leicestershire and everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion.

Library Coming Soon - Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurudwara, Leicester Renovation Project Update📚✨

The new library at Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara Sahib is currently being built on the first floor as part of the renovation project!

A dedicated space for learning, reflection and preserving Sikh heritage. It will feature Panjabj & English books on Sikh history, Sikh theology and philosophy, children’s literature and modern technology facilities for all ages.

As part of preserving our local history, archives and Leicester news publications from the last 50 years have also been carefully collected and will be available for viewing and research.

Built with community spirit, this library will bring together knowledge, faith and community for generations to come. 🙏
