Jesus Christ will return. Nearly every other page in the New Testament refers either directly or indirectly to the return of Christ. Today we looked at the evidence from Acts chapter 1 where Jesus went up into heaven. Before this, his disciples asked, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? They were looking for the re-establishment of the literal kingdom of Israel with a real king in Jerusalem. Jesus didn’t say the kingdom won’t be established but that it wasn’t for them to know when the Father would carry out his plan. When Jesus was taken up out of their sight into the clouds, two angels said to the disciples, these very clear words: “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). This clearly means that Jesus will come back to earth at some time in the future, to reign over God’s kingdom. Just as the angel Gabriel said to his mother Mary, “The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1:32)

“Life requires regular reflection, much like renovating a building. We must identify what is broken, repair what has gone wrong, and continue improving before it is too late. Jesus talked about two builders: the wise builder who built on rock and the foolish builder who built on sand. The difference was not simply hearing God’s Word, but putting it into practice and doing the Father’s will.
Salvation comes by God’s grace, not by our works. Yet as believers, we are called to grow and build faithfully, one step and one brick at a time. We are to encourage and strengthen one another, not tear each other down. Like a building, the church is made up of many parts working together toward a shared vision, with planning, preparation, and faithful ex*****on.
James ch 1 reminds us that looking into a mirror shows us who we are, but looking into the perfect law of liberty shows us who we should become. Let us be more than hearers of the Word—let us be doers, busy builders, building godly character and serving in the work of the Lord.”

Isaiah ch 55 reveals God as a compassionate, just and faithful Father to those who seek Him. He invites everyone who is thirsty and weary to come to find the truth about his grace and the hope of life. He promises mercy and forgiveness to those who turn to him, declaring that his ways and thoughts are far higher than human understanding. God sent his son, the Lord Jesus so that we could appreciate the qualities of his character and God wants us to try and reflect these in the way we live our lives now. His word never fails but always accomplishes what he intends. Isaiah ch 55 also points towards the coming kingdom and his promise of joy, peace, and restoration for his people willing to turn to him and accept him as their all-powerful Creator who always keeps his promises.

What is the meaning of life?
Most people when asked this question might think of being happy in some way. Money and what it can buy, political power, even our families are seen as routes to happiness and therefore a reason for our existence.
The Bible however takes the question to a higher level and gives us God’s point of view. God is the author of life and all living things. Humans, given freedom of choice, preferred to please themselves rather than obey God and consequently have suffered mortality as a result. On the other hand, Jesus, the first of God’s new creation, never made that mistake. He did not please himself but obeyed God, serving his fellow men and women. We are told Jesus conquered sin by dying, and was raised to eternal life by his Father.
God in his mercy has ordained that if we use our lives to follow Jesus, we too will “not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)
