As children head back to school this week there may be lots of emotions being felt in your home.
Whether they are excitement and joy, anxiety and fear, or a big mix of it all, we want to pray for you all.

Loving God, thank you for the rest and relaxation we enjoyed over the summer.
Today, we pray for our children as they begin their new school year.
Bless them with joy at seeing friends, excitement at new
experiences, and a love of learning.
Watch over all who learn, replacing fear with joy, anxiety with peace,
and tiredness with energy.
Grant teachers wisdom, patience, and joy in serving their students.
in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

"Do to others as you would have them do to you"

On Sunday, we looked at this statement that Jesus made. What exactly does it mean?

Jesus was describing a way of living that is entirely sacrificial. This means not just giving from what we have spare.... but actually giving of those things we need for ourselves. Whether it is financial, our time, our talents or our service.
He also calls us to do things for others with no expectation that those acts will be reciprocal in any way, unconditionally.

But how do we do that? I think most of us would say we are not good at this, that we are all selfish at our root.

But that is where God steps in. His generosity to us, the way he loves, cares and provides means we can learn to give away without fear. In the full knowledge that we have a Father in Heaven who will provide for us in abundance.

The Sermon on the Mount really displayed the fact that we need salvation, forgiveness and his gift of the Holy Spirit. We can't do it alone.

After a wonderful season of Summer Socials we are back in church on Sunday at our usual time of 4pm!

We are very excited to catch up with everyone and to be able to worship together!

Our Living Hope Camp Getaway was a really memorable experience filled with fun!
It was a great opportunity to build stronger relationships and create lasting memories.
We had games and activities, spent time around the campfire and most importantly, we spent time learning more about God and his Holy Spirit, and growing in our faith. We are so grateful for the moments we shared and look forward to many more.
It's always nice to share what life looks like being part of Living Hope Church, and as ever the invitation is open to you too. We're excited to be a multi age, multi ethnic community growing right here in the heart of Thurmaston.

This Sunday we will be meeting in Church Hill CofE Junior School at 4pm, maybe pop along for a visit? We'd love to see you.

Will you be going along to Thurmaston Summer Fayre this Saturday? It looks like it will be an amazing time.

Just a reminder that we are not open on Sunday but will be returning to normal services on Sunday 9th August.
