During August on Sundays we are going to be watching some messages from Spring Harvest 2018. The theme that year was "Only the Brave", looking at the book of James. The messages were recorded at Butlins in Skegness. Due to copyright the only way to see these is to join us, unless we can find them on Youtube.
On the 16th August we will be sharing communion together, led by Jonathan Aldridge.

Thank you to everyone who came to our work morning today, we got quite a bit done from weeding to cleaning, hedge trimming and gutter clearing. At the end, after quite a bit of graft we enjoyed Fish & Chips together.

We are very excited about tomorrow when Iain Cunningham is going to be chatting to Tunde Efosa and Paula Fernando about their life and what Jesus means to them. The service will be split into two sectiions with praise and worship inbetween.

For those who watched the match between England and France yesterday may have noticed that a group of players from both teams were praying together after the game.
It reminded me of the following passage in the bible which is a picture of what heaven will be like.

Revelation 7:9-10
9 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a great roar,

“Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne
and from the Lamb!”

England and France had just finished an unforgettable 6–4 World Cup...

It wasn’t the ending England supporters had hoped for.

Football can bring enormous joy, but it can also leave us disappointed. That is part of caring deeply about something whose outcome we cannot control.

The Bible doesn’t ignore disappointment. Its pages are full of people facing loss, frustration and plans that did not unfold as expected. But it also points to a God who remains present and faithful when hope feels fragile.

A result can change in a moment. God’s love does not.
