Today we explored how the things in our life can transform us.

Jesus came to Earth for several reasons, including:
- To give us salvation and forgive of sins eternally by dying on the cross.
- To give us the ability to be born again spiritually and receive eternal life through faith in Jesus as the Son of God

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He left us the Holy Spirit, who we receive when we give our lives to Jesus and receive new life in Him.
The Holy Spirit helps us to be transformed into the image of Christ (to be like him, in every area of our lives), because Jesus knows that we can’t do it on our own.

Our verse for the month, Romans 12:2 says 'Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will'

What we allow to enter out mind causes us to be formed in one way or another and this can transform us in good ways, but if we allow bad things to enter our minds, it can transform us and cause us to conform in negative ways.

Think of things that you know aren't a positive influence in your life, and that you want to let go of.
Speak to God about why you want to lay these things down and ask for his strength and wisdom. Pray for His love, strength and discipline to turn away from the things or people that corrupt our minds, or for the Holy Spirit to start showing you the things that he knows isn’t healthy or good for you, mentally or spiritually.

Well done to our amazing young people who were involved in the services today!
We joined in the adult service and were not only led in worship by some of our very own youth, but were also treated to an amazing drama and a beautiful dance!
It was amazing to watch these talented young people worshipping God through their many skills and talents!

Today, we explored Hebrews 13:15-16- and how we can be a sacrifice of praise.
What we have and can give can be any number of things, but the greatest gift that you can give is yourself.
We tend to measure our giving by material things, but they pale in comparison to ourselves.
Your time, loving concern, prayerful support, a listening ear, and helping hand are far more valuable than anything money can do or buy.
Notice that praise is connected here with sacrifice. A sacrifice is something you give that costs you something; it often brings pain or discomfort. We are to go out of our way without a thought of personal comfort to tell or show others the glory of Christ.
He who acts only within the boundaries of comfort is not offering to the Lord any sacrifice of praise at all and will not please God.
When you invest yourself in others, you are pleasing God. Take the time today to give someone your time and attention. You will be glad you did.
