It was great to see everyone today at our church picnic after the service! The weather even held long enough for us to enjoy our picnic in the sun! Whatever you’re doing we hope you’re having a good Bank Holiday Weekend!

After the service on Sunday it’s our church picnic. Everyone is welcome and it'll be a great chance to get to know each other better. Do bring along your own picnic lunch. Tea and coffee will be available in the church centre as normal too. After such a hot, dry summer the weather is looking more mixed tomorrow so if it's dry we'll have our picnics outside but if it's wet we'll be in the church centre.

Either way, come rain or shine, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Many congratulations to our new Bishop of Leeds! We look forward to Bishop Toby taking on his new role as our diocesan bishop. Please do be praying for him as he takes on his new responsibilities.

We have a new Bishop! We are delighted that Downing Street has announced this morning that the Rt Rev Dr Toby Howarth has been approved by the King as the nomination to be the second Bishop of Leeds. Bishop Toby has been Area Bishop of Bradford since 2014 and Acting Bishop of Leeds since the retirement of Rt Rev Nick Baines in November last year and we are so pleased that he will be continuing to lead the diocese forwards.

We've been enjoying the warm weather recently. Last weekend we had a church walk through Gallows Hill Nature Reserve in Otley, and our youth group met for a social to enjoy fish and chips and have fun in Roundhay Park! Hope you've been enjoying the sunshine too! ☀️🕶️

Allerton Church of England Primary School came to church this morning for their End of Year Celebration. It has been a joy to be part of regular collective worship at ACE this year, and we wish Year 6 students well as they move on to their new schools. Wishing all the staff and students at ACE an amazing and restful summer! ☀️

Yesterday our CMS mission partners Rosie and Stu Bayford came to speak at church as they end their time working in Brazil. It was wonderful to hear how they have been able to serve vulnerable children and families in Recife over the past seven years. 🇧🇷

It has been an amazing weekend celebrating Bex’s ordination as a priest. She was ordained by Bishop Arun at Leeds Minster on Saturday and presided at Holy Communion at St Barnabas’ for the first time on Sunday. Many congratulations to you, Bex! 🎉
