AN UPDATE FROM SOME OF THE CHILDREN WE SPONSOR VIA Compassion UK

Marcos from Ecuador wished the peace of God may be with us, thanked us for his letter & gift, mentioned exams, explained that he has recently had lots of homework & projects, and he informed us of his challenges with an AI project. He is practicing his favourite sports - basketball & football - and will be moving onto his 3rd year of high school. Marcos also asked us to pray for his grandparents, parents, the rest of his family, and for the people who earn their living on the streets.

Joseph from Rwanda expressed his dreams: someday to visit his grandmother, someday to meet his sponsor, someday to see his sponsor, someday to do medicine, someday to help build a house for his family, and someday to be like his teacher. He also sent his greetings to Lillington Free Church.

We pray for Marcos and Joseph, and all who matter to them. May God be with them and strengthen them whatever life places in front of them.

Christian Aid Week 2026 is coming to an end. However, the work does not need to end here: there is always more that can be done for those in need.

Across the Bible, believers are called to love their neighbour, stand with the vulnerable and work for justice.

But what does that look like in practice?

Millions of people around the world still live in poverty. For many Christians, responding to poverty is not optional. It is a core part of living out their faith 🙏

We had much to celebrate on Sunday: a new member (Rose), the ordination & induction of a new Elder (Edward), and the induction of a returning Elder (Julie).

We are thankful for all that they bring to our community and pray that they gain as much from us as we do from them.
