Public Statement:

Big Church Festival 2026 has been paused following a serious incident on site, and no further programme will take place today.

First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been directly impacted by the incident.

We understand this will be deeply disappointing for the thousands who have joined us at the festival.

We are working closely with the emergency services and relevant authorities. Further announcements will be made as more information becomes available.

We are grateful for the understanding, patience, and prayers of our community at this time.

“the silent epidemic”......

Loneliness affects people of all ages from all backgrounds. It’s described as “the silent epidemic” by loneliness charity The Marmalade Trust and is fast becoming a scourge of modern society.

But people in church communities are playing a valuable role in combating loneliness and isolation. This National Loneliness Awareness Week, discover how local churches can provide a vital lifeline at methodist.org.uk/about/our-stories/national-loneliness-awareness-week/

🥕🌱 Be Part of Something New for Whitnash! 🌱🥕

Nourish Whitnash is preparing to launch a new **Community Fridge** at Whitnash Methodist Church, and we're looking for volunteers to help bring this exciting project to life.

The Community Fridge will help reduce food waste while making good food available to everyone in our community in a welcoming, stigma-free way. Before we can open our doors, we need a team of local people who share our vision and want to make a difference.

Could you help with:

📦 Collecting and organising food donations
🥕 Stocking and maintaining the fridge
👋 Welcoming visitors when we open
📋 Supporting the day-to-day running of the project
🤝 Helping us create a friendly community space

No experience is necessary – just a willingness to get involved and support your local community.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new initiative from the very beginning and help shape a project that will benefit Whitnash for years to come.

If you'd like to join the team and help us get the Community Fridge up and running, we'd love to hear from you. Send us a message for more information.

Together, we can reduce food waste, support our neighbours, and build a stronger, more connected Whitnash. 💚
