“the silent epidemic”......

Loneliness affects people of all ages from all backgrounds. It’s described as “the silent epidemic” by loneliness charity The Marmalade Trust and is fast becoming a scourge of modern society.

But people in church communities are playing a valuable role in combating loneliness and isolation. This National Loneliness Awareness Week, discover how local churches can provide a vital lifeline at methodist.org.uk/about/our-stories/national-loneliness-awareness-week/

🥕🌱 Be Part of Something New for Whitnash! 🌱🥕

Nourish Whitnash is preparing to launch a new **Community Fridge** at Whitnash Methodist Church, and we're looking for volunteers to help bring this exciting project to life.

The Community Fridge will help reduce food waste while making good food available to everyone in our community in a welcoming, stigma-free way. Before we can open our doors, we need a team of local people who share our vision and want to make a difference.

Could you help with:

📦 Collecting and organising food donations
🥕 Stocking and maintaining the fridge
👋 Welcoming visitors when we open
📋 Supporting the day-to-day running of the project
🤝 Helping us create a friendly community space

No experience is necessary – just a willingness to get involved and support your local community.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new initiative from the very beginning and help shape a project that will benefit Whitnash for years to come.

If you'd like to join the team and help us get the Community Fridge up and running, we'd love to hear from you. Send us a message for more information.

Together, we can reduce food waste, support our neighbours, and build a stronger, more connected Whitnash. 💚

This coming week is designated as a WEEK OF HOPE.
so here are a few words of hope-
Hope means hoping even when things seem hopeless.
Never take a simple breath for granted, it is a privilege to be alive, life is beautiful, precious and a gift. let us try to make the best of it.
You are loved even when you don't feel it, God loves you even when you don't think you deserve it.
Take a look out of the window or go out into the garden and look at the plants, the trees and the flowers. they are all beautifully made and so are you.
Be thankful for what you have and show thanks to others.
You are not alone. Unseen by us, in a spiritual realm, God sends his hope to bring us invincible help. You have a friend in God.
See Psalm 34 v 4-8

He is risen! Alleluia!

Today, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate Jesus' resurrection three days after His death on the cross.

May the risen Christ fill your soul with joy today.
May you live as one who has seen the empty tomb and cannot keep the good news to yourself.

In the name of Christ, Alleluia!
