Last week Margaret led us through a service exploring the importance of the body of the Church and how our bodies are so reliant on each other part. Have a look at some of the activities we took part in.

We are looking forward to spending this special evening with you. We want everyone to be safe and so are sharing this important information with you:

Do not look at the Sun without certified eye protection.
Even during a 95% eclipse, the Sun’s remaining rays are intense enough to cause permanent blindness.
No Pain Warning: Your retina has no pain receptors. You will not feel your eyes burning, but the damage happens in seconds.
❌ NEVER USE THESE TO VIEW THE ECLIPSE:
Ordinary Sunglasses (even dark or polarized ones)
Mobile Phones or Cameras (the lens magnifies rays and destroys your eyes and phone sensor)
Binoculars or Telescopes (unless fitted with professional solar filters)
Improvised Filters (smoked glass, bin liners, or crisp packets)
√ HOW TO WATCH SAFELY:
Use Approved Eclipse Glasses: Only use glasses marked with the ISO 12312-2 safety standard. Check them for scratches before putting them on.
The Pinhole Method: Turn your back to the Sun. Cross the fingers of one hand over the other to create a grid. Look at the shadow on the ground to see the crescent shapes.
🕒 Event Timings (Wednesday, 12 August 2026)
6:10 PM – Eclipse Begins: The moon starts to touch the edge of the sun.
7:10 PM – Maximum Eclipse: The sun will be a thin crescent. The sky will noticeably dim.
8:10 PM – Eclipse Ends: The sun returns to normal.
Please look out for children and ensure they keep their protective glasses on at all times.
