Sunday Recap ⏮️

It was a full Sunday at Millbrook as we gathered together as a church family.

Our morning began with First Breakfast, sharing food and conversation together before hearing from Dwain about his time on mission in Stockton last month.
It was so encouraging to hear about the work taking place there and to spend time praying for the community and ministry.

We had a busy afternoon spending time setting up and preparing for our Acoustic Café fundraiser, the team working hard to help everything come together!

In the evening, we enjoyed great music, good food, and time spent together, while raising funds to support our young people attending the Nazarene Youth Conference in Madrid this August.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible and to all who came along to support.

The best kind of Sunday!!

This Is Millbrook

When people ask what makes Millbrook Nazarene special, the answer is simple: our people.

It’s the volunteers who arrive early to make coffee, stay late to clean up, welcome visitors with a smile, teach Sunday school, lead us in worship, pray with those who are hurting, and quietly serve wherever they’re needed. So much of what happens here is possible because of faithful people who give their time and hearts to others.

You may not always be seen, but you are deeply appreciated.

“This is Millbrook” isn’t just a tagline, it’s a reminder that the church is not the building. The church is the people who show up, love well, serve faithfully, and make this community feel like home.

To mark volunteers week we want to thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in our church and in our community. Your kindness, generosity, and willingness to serve make a difference every single week. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of what makes Millbrook Nazarene such a special place.

“Serve one another humbly in love.”
Galatians 5:13

We love being involved with our local schools and supporting our P7s as they transition to post-primary school 📚
We are thankful for the work of SUNI and the opportunity to partner with them 🤝

Today we came to the end of our three sessions in Linn Primary School. Thank you to Millbrook Church Of The Nazarene as Lucy and Victoria joined us today. We wish the P7 all the best and look forward to seeing them handle change, make good choices and tackle the challenges that post primary school will bring.

Young Adults Home Group🍽️

We believe that Church isn’t just Sundays, it’s a family that shares life together throughout the week.

One of the ways we do this is through our Young Adults Home Group🏡
On Wednesday evenings, Lucy and Nick host a weekly gathering in their home.

We share dinner, open the Bible, and spend time together in relaxed community.
There’s space for conversation, questions, prayer, and connection - whatever stage of faith you’re at.

If you’re aged 18–35 and would like to come along or find out more, we’d love to hear from you - just send us a message!

Don't forget to join us this Sunday at 7:00pm for our Acoustic Café Fundraiser! ☕️🧁🎵

We’ll have the kettle on, plenty of sweet treats ready, and relaxing live music playing in the background.

All proceeds from the night go toward sending some of our young people to the Nazarene Youth Conference in Madrid this August. This trip is a massive milestone for them to grow in leadership, deepen their faith, and connect with the wider church 🌎

We would love to have you join us for a relaxing evening in support of a really great cause.

On Sunday, Pastor Victoria finished off our Transformed series with the story of Mary Magdalene.

Mary’s life was radically changed by an encounter with Jesus. Once bound by darkness, she became one of His most devoted followers, remaining faithful at the cross, returning to the tomb in her grief, and becoming the first witness to the resurrection.

Even in worry, uncertainty and grief, Mary kept moving towards Jesus.

We were also reminded that transformation isn’t just about leaving old things behind. God calls us to replace them with things that shape us into the people He created us to be.

Mary’s story is a powerful reminder that no past is beyond God’s reach, no life is beyond His power to transform, and no person is disqualified from being used for His purposes.

The same Jesus who transformed Mary is still transforming lives today.

On the last Sunday of every month, we share Communion together as a church family, and everyone is welcome at the table.

In the Church of the Nazarene, Communion is open to all who want to remember and celebrate the love and grace of Jesus. From the early days of the Nazarene Church, members chose to use unfermented grape juice rather than alcohol as part of Communion. This reflected the church’s long-standing commitment to care, compassion, and holiness, making the table accessible and safe for everyone, including those recovering from addiction.

During Communion here at Millbrook, we use juice to represent the blood of Christ and bread to represent His body. Gluten-free options are also available so that everyone can take part together.

Whether you’ve been part of church for years or you’re simply curious and looking for a place to belong, you are warmly invited to join us at Millbrook this Sunday!
