Larbert East Church

Larbert East Church Former Church of Scotland. Now superceded by Tryst Church. These villages lie in the heart of central Scotland, half way between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Larbert East is part of the Church of Scotland and is one of the four Church of Scotland churches serving the villages of Larbert and Stenhousemuir. We currently have a Locum Minister, Rev. Philip Hacking following the recent retirement of Rev Melville Crosthwaite.

Today the Larbert Tryst Church is officially born.
We look forward to building new connections, new friendships and sharing our faith with the wider community.
Change is never easy but we hope to take the opportunity that it brings to build a strong vibrant church to serve our new parish community.

A weekend filled with tears, laughter and hope for the future! On Saturday we held a brilliant exhibition commemorating Larbert East’s history, including the stunning displays of wedding dresses and baptismal gowns, and memorabilia from the Scouts, Guides and Boys Brigade. On Sunday the church was filled with praise and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ as we held the final Larbert East service. It was lovely to welcome many, many friends from the past as we participated in a truly joyful service. There were presentations to our Locum Minister (Rev. Anne White), Session Clerk (Margaret Tooth) and Interim Moderator (Sheila Kerr). At the end we were blessed by Anne White singing John Rutter’s ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’ and then our former Church Officer, John Carmichael, led Anne and the congregation out of Larbert East Church for the final time. Next week – the start of a new chapter as Tryst Church - with our friends from Airth Parish Church, Larbert West Parish Church and Stenhouse & Carron Parish Church.
