Banking your happiness on the football? Pinning your hopes for fulfilment on food? Looking for lasting joy in relationships, or career, or stuff?

Well, perhaps you've been down that road many times before...you know exactly where it leads - to frustration and unsatisfied desires.

What Jesus offers, then, must almost seem too good to be true; a never-ending spring of spiritual refreshment for parched souls.

When we as humans get in a huddle to give ourselves a pep talk, what do we manage to come up with? Well, beyond 'be better, try harder,' not a lot. Our messages to ourselves often compromise of making demands we can't actually keep; they enslave more than they free.

Thank God, then, that he has given us a word that doesn't depend on human effort or achievement - a gospel that tells us true freedom is found what he has done for us, not in what we do for him.

FREEDOM! We all want to be free, don't we? Free from pain, poverty and problems. But what if it's a deeper freedom we need? A freedom from guilt, fear and death. Well in the gospel (the good news of what Jesus Christ has done in history for humanity) that's exactly what God offers: a powerful, permanent freedom from all forms of spiritual slavery.

Join us this Sunday, 10.30am, as we consider the release God can bring about in all our lives.

Satisfaction – despite our endless scrolling, spending, shopping, searching – doesn’t it still seem out of reach?

The wells of the world promise to quench our thirst – but broken and barren our buckets always come up empty

But though surrounded by leaky cisterns, Jesus offers deep fulfilment. To all who trust in him he promises living water. A spring of refreshment that bubbles up in our hearts and overflows in our lives

According to the Bible, Hell is God giving us the judgement we DO deserve. But through the cross, God offers us the grace and mercy we DON'T deserve. For on the cross Jesus bore the judgement of all who believe in him in their place. What's startling is not that hell exists, but that Jesus would endure it so that by faith in him we may not have to.

Life has a way of frightening us, of making us fearful and afraid. From bills to the future to health scares - there is so much that causes us to worry.

But God's word to Joshua reminds us: if He is with us, there is nothing to worry about. When our trust is in the living God anxiety dies for he assures us we are safe in His hands.

In the 1st Century, Saul of Tarsus was a sworn enemy of Christ and the church. But Jesus met him and transformed him. He then spent the rest of his life preaching about Jesus Christ across the Roman Empire.

If Jesus was willing to accept, forgive and change a violent persecutor of his people like Saul, surely he's willing to accept, forgive and change someone like you?
