Statement on the Future of the Landrake Parish Pantry
The Landrake with St Erney Parochial Church Council is pleased to share that the Landrake Parish Pantry has chosen to become an independent community venture. Over the past years, the Pantry has grown in both scale and impact, offering vital support to individuals and families across our parish. Its success is a testament to the dedication of its volunteers and the generosity of our community.
As the Pantry has expanded, it has become clear that operating independently is the right next step. This change will allow the Pantry to continue developing its work with the flexibility and focus that such a significant community project now requires.
As a church, we believe that good things are given to be shared. Jesus teaches that when we release what we hold — whether resources, responsibility, or even cherished ministries — God multiplies the blessing for the sake of the wider community. In that spirit, the PCC is glad to give the Parish Pantry the freedom to flourish in its own right, trusting that this generosity will bear fruit for many.
The Parish Pantry will continue to rent space from the PCC for the foreseeable future, ensuring continuity for all who rely on its services.
The PCC is proud of all that the Parish Pantry has achieved and will continue to cheer it on. We look forward to the day when food insecurity is no longer a reality for anyone in our parish, and we remain committed to working together towards that hope.
