A message about CAFOD Family Fast Day Appeal this Harvest from volunteer Amy, at CAFOD in Lancaster

Please consider donating to our Family Fast Day parish collection. Put your faith into action and share the Lord’s love by supporting our global neighbours experiencing shortages of food and safe water. Your gift can support children like Tayla in Zimbabwe to stay in school by helping communities and schools provide nourishing meals, improve access to water and grow food in school gardens.

Use the CAFOD envelope in church, donate online at cafod.org.uk/envelope or call 0303 303 3030.

Many thanks and God bless
Amy

If it has been a while since you last came to Mass, or you feel nervous, unsure or even a little scared about coming back or coming for the first time, please know that you are always welcome. You don’t need to have everything figured out, and you don’t need to be perfect. The church is a place for all of us whatever our age, circumstances or past. Come as you are, take your time and simply be present. God’s love and mercy are always waiting for you. There is a place for you here, and we would love to welcome you into our parish family.

Children's Liturgy is back! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🖍🧸
Sometimes children can find Mass difficult to follow or even a little boring, especially when they are young. Children’s Liturgy takes place during the first half of Mass, where the Gospel is explained through child-friendly stories, activities and prayer. The children then return to the church before the Eucharistic Prayer, so they can continue celebrating Mass with the whole parish community. It is a wonderful way to help children grow in their faith, learn to pray and develop a lifelong love of Jesus and the Catholic Church.

Some people may wonder why we need to go to confession if God already forgives our sins. Confession is important, it allows us to personally acknowledge our sins, take responsibility for our actions, and receive God’s forgiveness through the Church. Even when we know God loves and forgives us, confession gives us the opportunity to turn away from sin, receive grace, and repair our relationship with Him. It brings peace to our hearts and helps us grow closer to God.
