President & Preacher
This Sunday, I will preach and preside at 08.30 am. At 10.30, I will preside and The Revd Liz Clelland will preach. After our morning services at Christ Church I will have to dash to St Nicholas Parish Church to preside and preach at the Kirking Service for the new Lord Cornet.

Steward on duty at Lanark
The Steward on duty at Lanark will be: Sheila Cardwell.

Confirmations/Receptions
The Bishop will be with us on Sunday 5 July to confirm and receive candidates from our congregation. There will be a lunch in the hall after the service to continue the celebrations. If anyone (who has not yet been identified) would like to be confirmed or received, please speak to the Rector at your earliest convenience.

Tin Can Collection for Ukraine
In addition to our 6 other congregational collections in support of excellent charities Vestry has agreed to support a further collection for an equally excellent cause – Ukraine. In conjunction with St Nicholas Parish Church we would like to ask you to save and bring in used, cleaned and de-labelled tin cans and pop them in the box in the Memorial Chapel. These will be collected by Isobel Malcolm and taken to St Nicholas, where they will be sent to Ukraine to be turned into candle holding heaters for Ukrainians who find themselves homeless and cold as a result of the ongoing war with Russia.

Our Current Away Giving Campaign.
In this quarter of the year we are collecting money for Water Aid.

Tin Can Collection for Ukraine
In addition to our 6 other congregational collections in support of excellent charities Vestry has agreed to support a further collection for an equally excellent cause – Ukraine. In conjunction with St Nicholas Parish Church we would like to ask you to save and bring in used, cleaned and de-labelled tin cans and pop them in the box in the Memorial Chapel. These will be collected by Isobel Malcolm and taken to St Nicholas, where they will be sent to Ukraine to be turned into candle holding heaters for Ukrainians who find themselves homeless and cold as a result of the ongoing war with Russia.

Our Current Away Giving Campaign.
In this quarter of the year we are collecting money for Water Aid. This Sunday, being the last of the calendar month, all our giving in the open plate will be ringfenced for that charity. Please come armed with some extra cash for that purpose.

Autumn Ladies
The Autumn Ladies have concluded their programme of meetings and events for the year. They will resume their activities after the summer in the month of September. We wish them and their Convener Isobel Malcolm a happy and healthy summer and a well-earned rest.

Taize Services
These are now suspended until after the summer. They will return to our schedule of monthly services when the nights start to draw in again in September and the twinkle of candlelight in the sanctuary can be better appreciated.

Christian Aid Week comes to an end this Saturday. On the table at the back we have left some Christian Aid envelopes, for those of you who didn’t get one through the door and would like to make a donation via the church. We will extend our period of collecting for this for another week.

Memory Lane
Our Dementia Support Group, Memory Lane, will meet in the church hall on Wednesday 27 May from 1 pm until 3 pm. In addition to a lovely scone and cake tea there will also be a sing song on the theme of summer (in the hope that it entices the sun to make an appearance!!)

Vestry Meeting
The Vestry will meet on zoom at 6 pm on Wednesday 27 May.

Church Magazine
Our Parish Magazine for May and June is now out. Those of you who have paid to have yours delivered will have received your copies by now. Those of you who have paid to pick up a copy from the shelf in the porch will find a pile of them there now for collection. Enjoy the read. And thanks, once again, to Sylvia for working her magic on it and pulling it all together.

In the New Year we will be supporting the following Away Giving Campaigns: Bishop’s Lent Appeal, Water Aid, Social Bite and The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

Church – Sunday 5 April – 10.30 am until 11.45 am – Easter Day Sung Eucharist
Hall – Tuesday 7 April – 2 pm until 5 pm – English Country Dancing
Hall – Wednesday 8 April – 2 pm until 4 pm – Autumn Ladies

Prayer Tree
We now have a prayer tree in the church hall. If you would like someone or something to be prayed for, please write your petition on the hearts provided and place it on the tree. Your prayer will be prayed for in church.

Private Prayer
When she is with us on Sundays The Revd Liz Clelland will offer pastoral prayer in the Memorial Chapel after the Sung Eucharist to individuals who would like it.
