***[[From the Depute Presbytery Clerk]]***
I am delighted to inform you that after many months of trials our phone system is now fully operational within the Church of Scotland Teams network. This means that staff members will be able to accept calls whether in the office or not.

You will now be able to reach the Presbytery Office by calling 01698 285672.

When Catherine, our Administration Officer is in the office (Monday – Friday 9am – 12noon) she will on hand to answer any queries or pass you to the relevant individual. If Catherine is unavailable or during the remaining office hours (Monday – Friday to 5pm) callers will hear a menu system where they will be able to press an option to speak to staff (subject to their availability).

The following staff members can be reached via the menu options …

1. Rev Julie Rennick, Presbytery Clerk
2. Rev Bryan Kerr, Depute Presbytery Clerk
3. Scott Paget, Mission Officer
4. Lorna Laughland, Education, Training and Development Officer
5. Mhairi MacLeod, Buildings Officer (PBO)
0. Catherine Barclay, Administration Officer

Outwith office hours (after 5pm and before 9am), callers will be able to leave a message or choose an option to speak to the Presbytery Clerk for any emergencies.

One of the advantages of the new integrated phone system is that callers can be transferred to staff colleagues in the National Offices or vice versa should those individuals be the best place for the query to be answered.

I trust that this information is useful and ask that you inform anyone who you feel may have need to contact the Presbytery Office.

As the world mourns the death of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, you can rewatch the address he gave to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in May 2009. For those commissioners in the hall that morning it is an experience they will never, ever forget. Please watch this through ... it is as relevant and meaningful all these years later.

An HD recording of the address of the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, delivered to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh on 27 May 2009.

This evening, after over 436 years of meeting as a presbytery, the Presbytery of Lanark met for the final time in Greyfriars Parish Church, Lanark. From 1 January we will form part of the new Presbytery of Forth Valley and Clydesdale covering most of South Lanarkshire, much of North Lanarkshire and Falkirk as part of the ongoing reform of the Church of Scotland.
This evening Lord Wallace of Tankerness, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland preached at our final communion service; the Principal Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev Dr George Whyte joined us remotely and offered his words of encouragement; and the Provost of South Lanarkshire, Councillor Ian McAllan offered his thanks on behalf of the local authority and the people of Clydesdale for the influence the presbytery has had on our communities for over four hundred years including providing education, welfare and spiritual care.

We wonder what our forebears would have made of having a meeting wearing face coverings and having half of the members appear on a screen where they could be seen moving and heard speaking!

For many it was emotional as the Moderator of the Presbytery, Anne Cochrane closed the meeting for the final time and discharged members from the Presbytery.
