Lampeter Quakers /Crynwyr Llambed

We were delighted to host a large group of asylum seekers from the Swansea area for a welcome day in Llangadog recently. Our guests from many nations enjoyed a lovely walk to the river, interactive music sessions throughout the day, a short afternoon concert and a chance to meet locals and chat while the children let off steam using play equipment kindly loaned by the local meithrin. Everyone enjoyed sharing a wonderful lunch and lots of tea and cakes. Many thanks to all who made this event happen for their donatons of time, food and other items. Here are some of the volunteers who stayed behind to help clear the hall.

Quakers and Reparations
On Saturday, February 25th, our guest speaker for this Crynwyr Cymru-Quakers in Wales meeting will be Edwina Peart, Diversity and Inlcusion Coordinator for BYM. Edwina will be speaking with us during the afternoon session on February 25th. In preparation for Edwina's talk, Friends are invited to listen to a discussion that has already been recorded by Edwina for the podcast, A Quaker Take. The subject of the discussion is reparations.

I'd like to wish you all a peaceful and blessing filled time over this period of festivals of lights from different faiths. A time to reflect and go into ourselves as well as a time to be with friends and family.
As Lampeter meeting we will be having an Epiphany Meeting in Cwmann on Sunday January 15th. Titled 'Creative Dreamtime' it is a chance to share your thoughts, as well as readings, poems, artwork or music to express your vision for the new year in any creative way you wish. A big thank you and shout out to the Mulberry Bush, Minds Eye cafe, Lampeter Climate Shop, UWTSD Lampeter and Watson & Pratt's for selling white peace poppies this year -We raised £64 for Cymdeithas y Cymod/ Fellowship of Reconciliation in Wales.
