🌿 The Good Grief Café 🌿
You are warmly invited to our next Good Grief Café this coming Sunday:
đź“… Sunday 14 June
🕝 2.30 pm
📍 The Hub, King Street Halls
This is a gentle, informal space for anyone living with loss—whether recent or long ago. We gather to share, listen, and simply be alongside others who understand.
We spend time in small groups, creating a quieter, more personal setting where you are free to speak or just sit and listen—whatever feels right for you.
There’s no pressure, no expectations.
It’s not counselling, not faith‑based, and everyone is welcome.

📣 We’ve signed up to CAN!
On Sunday 7th June, Kirkwall East Church formally signed the Constituency Action Network (CAN) Agreement during worship.
We’ve been reflecting together on what it means to work for peace and justice, to build positive relationships with those in public office, and to find our voice as a Christian community in the wider world.
There has been thoughtful conversation, some healthy questioning, and a strong sense that this is a step we are called to take together.
By joining CAN, we are committing ourselves to:
1. Build a positive and purposeful relationship with our MP
2. Intentionally sustain that relationship and to pray for our MP regularly
3. Listen to one another within the church, to the wider community and to our MP about local and national concerns
4. Maintain contact with Joint P***c Issues Team, feeding back our listening and enabling representatives to attend training and other gatherings
5. Engage with campaigns that are promoted by JPIT and our denomination as appropriate to address issues of justice and peace
Please continue to pray for us as we seek to live this out faithfully in the months ahead.

This is a non-partisan event, open to everyone, and we would love to see a wide range of voices taking part.
