Global week of prayer - 6th-13th September

The Global week of prayer, is a 24/7 Prayer initiative - encouraging Christians throughout the world to pray from 6th-13th September. The theme for this week is, ‘At the Name of Jesus.’

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” - Philippians 2:9-11 NIV

In Orkney we want to join in and pray together, we want to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord over all of the earth. We’re seeking to encounter His beauty and power, and carry Jesus into our villages, islands, towns, cities and nations.

Orkney will have 2 prayer spaces that you can use to pray, one in Stromness (at St Mary’s, Church Rd) and one in Kirkwall (at the Life Church, East Rd). These spaces will allow you access 24/7. We would love for you to join us by signing up for an hour (or more!) slot using this link: https://signup.24-7prayer.com/signup/ac26a6

In the prayer spaces there will be ‘prayer stations’ set up to encourage and lead you in prayer but feel free to use this space as you want. You can go by yourself, as a family with friends, as a house group or however you desire. We hope and pray that these spaces will give you the opportunity to seek God, sense his presence and hear Him speak.

Each morning, over this week, at 6am there will be an online devotional Zoom call that you can join in with if you would like. You can access this through the link below.

CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED
Starts Thursday 27th August at KBC - 7.30pm

Christianity Explored is a 7 week course looking at what Christianity is all about. Ask Questions. Have discussions. Every week there will be a short video followed by space to explore who Jesus was, why he came and why that is important today.
You don't have to have faith or a church background to come. There's no pressure to join in with the discussion, you can just sit back and listen if you choose. We'd love to have you join us!

We're very excited for the up and coming Orkney Bible Festival happening this year from the 28th to 30th August at Firth Church in Finstown. See the full details below.
In support of the event, there will be no evening service at KBC on Sunday the 30th and we instead recommend everyone to get along to the Bible Festival.

24/7 Prayer - Orkney

We had such a fun time at our Game Show Night fundraiser on Saturday. Thank you to those who contributed baking, helped with set up, our brilliant contestants and everyone who gave so generously.
We managed to raise over £660 (including gifts given after the event) for our Youth Trip to Magnitude in the Summer. This will go along way in helping us out!!
