«وأقامنا الله معه، وأجلسنا معه في السماويات فى المسيح»
(أفسس ٢: ٦)

نحتفل اليوم بعيد صعود الرب، اليوم الذي تقترب فيه السماء من الأرض،لان يسوع المسيح ربنا، الذي سار بيننا، قد ارتفع الآن في المجد من أجلنا.

إن صعود الرب ليس رحيلًا، بل هو تمجيد له ورفعة لنا معه. فالصعود هو الوعد بأن الإنسانية، في المسيح، لها مكان مُعدّ في مجد الله.

ويذكّرنا القديس أثناسيوس الرسولي بأن الرب في صعوده: «لم يصعد لأجل نفسه، بل لأجلنا، لكي يجعلنا ورثة معه في الملكوت السماوي.»
كما يعلّمنا القديس كيرلس الإسكندري أن المسيح، بصعوده، «فتح لنا طريق السماء الذي كان مغلقًا منذ الأزمنة القديمة.»
وكلماتهم تعلن لنا أن هذا اليوم ليس فقط انتصار المسيح، بل هو رجاؤنا نحن أيضًا.

في صعوده، حمل المسيح إنسانيتنا إلى داخل حياة الله نفسه. لم يترك العالم، بل ملأه بحضوره بطريقة جديدة وقوية. وكما وعد:
«وها أنا معكم كل الأيام إلى انقضاء الدهر.»
(متى ٢٨: ٢٠)

فالذي صعد ما زال يشفع، وما زال يملك، وما زال يرسل روحه القدوس، وما زال يجمع كنيسته إلى ملء حياته.

المسيح قام — بالحقيقة قام

“and raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,”(Eph 2:6)

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, a day when heaven and earth seem to lean toward one another, and Jesus Christ our Lord the One who walked among us now reigns in glory for us.

Our Lord’s Ascension is not His departure but His exaltation and our elevation with Him. The Ascension is the pledge that humanity, in Christ, already has a place prepared in the glory of God.

St Athanasius reminds us that in the Ascension, “the Lord did not ascend for Himself but for us, that He might make us heirs with Him of the heavenly kingdom.” And St Cyril of Alexandria beautifully teaches that Christ, by ascending, “opened for us the way to heaven, which had been closed since ancient times.” Their words echo the truth that today is not only Christ’s triumph it is our hope.

In His Ascension Christ has carried our humanity into the very life of God. He has not abandoned the world; He has filled it with His presence in a new and powerful way. As He promised: “And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

The One who ascended still intercedes, still reigns, still sends His Spirit, and still gathers His Church into the fullness of His life.

اليوم عيد استشهاد القديس مارمرقس الرسول، كاروز الديار المصرية وشفيع كنيستنا القبطية كلها، وشفيع كنيستنا هنا في اسكتلندا.

نقف اليوم أمام ذكرى رسول عظيم، قدّم حياته للمسيح منذ أكثر من ألفي عام، وغرس في سنة 48 م بذرة الإيمان في الإسكندرية، فصارت شجرة مباركة أثمرت كنيسة قوية، خرج منها أبطال الإيمان الذين غيّروا وجه التاريخ:
القديس أثناسيوس الرسولي، حامي العقيدة؛
القديس كيرلس عمود الدين؛
القديس كليمندس؛
القديس ديديموس الضرير؛
ومنهم أيضًا آباء الرهبنة العظام: القديس أنطونيوس الكبير، القديس بولا أول السواح، والقديس باخوميوس أب الشركة.

نحن حقًا مدينون لإيماننا وتراثنا وطريق خلاصنا لهذا الرسول العظيم الذي قدّم للمسيح كل شيء، حتى دمه.

مارمرقس لم يكتفِ بأن يكرز بالمسيح، بل عاشه، وأحبه، ومات من أجله. وفي هذا العيد، نتذكّر أننا لسنا فقط محبّين لمارمرقس، بل نحن أبناؤه. ميراثه ليس قصة تُروى، بل طريق نسلكه.

فلنسِر على خطواته بثبات.
لنحمل الإنجيل بجرأة.
لنحب الكنيسة بإخلاص.
ولنقدّم حياتنا بهدوء، وأمانة، وفرح للرب الذي بذل نفسه لأجلنا.

لتكن صلوات القديس مارمرقس معنا، تقوّي كنيستنا في اسكتلندا، وتوحّد بيوتنا، وتشعل فينا نار الإيمان الرسولي.

ليكن عيد مارمرقس شفيعنا عيدًا مباركًا عليكم جميعًا.
المسيح قام بالحقيقه قام.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Martyrdom of St Mark the Apostle, the blessed Evangelist, the founder of our great Coptic Church, and the heavenly patron of our church here in Scotland.

Today we stand in awe before a saint who, more than 2,000 years ago, sealed his love for Christ with his own blood. In 48 AD, St Mark planted the seed of the Gospel in Alexandria, and from that seed blossomed a Church that has shaped the faith of the entire world. Through him, the Lord gave us giants of theology and holiness; St Athanasius the Apostolic, defender of the Incarnation; St Cyril the Pillar of Faith; St Clement; Didymus the Blind; and the shining stars of monasticism, St Antony the Great, St Paul the First Hermit, and St Pachomius, father of communal monastic life.

We truly owe our faith, our heritage, and the path to eternal life to the courage of this great apostle who brought Christ to Egypt and to all of us who now call the Coptic Church our home.

St Mark did not simply preach Christ he lived Him, he loved Him, and he died for Him. And today, as we celebrate his martyrdom, we are reminded that we are not merely admirers of St Mark. We are his children. His legacy is not a story to be remembered but a path to be walked.

Let us follow his steps with conviction.
Let us carry the Gospel with the same boldness.
Let us love the Church with the same devotion.
Let us offer our lives quietly, faithfully, joyfully to the Lord who gave everything for us.

May the prayers of St Mark the Apostle strengthen our church in Scotland, unite our families, and kindle in us the same apostolic fire that transformed nations.

Blessed Feast of St Mark our intercessor, to you all.

Today, the entire congregation of St Mark the Apostle Church in Scotland was blessed by the pastoral visit of our beloved father, His Eminence Metropolitan Antony. His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy, consecrated new altar vessels, and also baptised one of the children.

We were joined on this joyful day by our dear Fr Elisha Ramzy and the beloved congregation of St Mary and Archangel Michael Church in Hamilton. It was a truly blessed and joyful occasion for everyone.

May the Lord grant His Eminence Metropolitan Antony, many years of fatherhood, care, and peaceful times.

لقد أتى موسم الصوم يا إخوتي،
فمن كان محتاجًا إلى عزاء، أو صبر، أو اتضاع، أو انسحاق، أو محبة—فليأتِ ويقتنِ، لئلا يكون هذا هو آخر الزمان، وتُعلَن فيه كمال الأزمنة، ويُوجَد أحدكم غير مستعد.

لن يستطيع الأخ أن يشتري من أخيه، ولا الأب أن يُغني أولاده، لأن بضاعة الملكوت معروضة في السوق مجانًا، وكل غِنى الملكوت يُختَطَف اختطافًا.

The season of fasting has arrived, my brothers.
Whoever finds himself in need of comfort, or patience, or humility, or contrition, or love—let him come and acquire them, lest this be the end of time, the moment when the fullness of time is proclaimed, and one of you is found unprepared.

A brother will not be able to buy from his brother, nor can a father enrich his children, for the goods of the Kingdom are displayed in the marketplace freely, and every treasure of the Kingdom is seized by those who strive for it.

«عظيمٌ كان خطيّةُ أهل نينوى، لكن أعظم كانت توبتُهم، لأنهم قلبوا مدينتهم بدموعهم، وبالصوم أعادوا بناءها.»
القديس أفرام السرياني — تفسير يونان ٣:٦

ونحن نختتم صوم نينوى المقدّس؛ صوم التوبة والتجديد والقيامة مع الرب، أهنّئكم جميعًا من كل القلب.
ففي هذه الأيام الثلاثة الماضية، سرنا معًا في خطوات أهل نينوى: اتّضعنا أمام الله، ورجعنا إليه، وفتحنا قلوبنا لرحمته التي تغيّر وتجدّد.

وكما نظر الرب إلى دموع أهل نينوى وتوبتهم ومنحهم الحياة بدل الهلاك، هكذا نسأله أن ينظر إلى كل نفس صادقة ترجع إليه.

هذا الصوم ليس فقط تذكارًا لتوبة أهل نينوى، بل هو أيضًا احتفال برحمة الله؛ الرحمة التي لا تكلّ، والمحبّة التي لا تتعب، والحنان الذي يفتح باب بيت الآب لكل خاطئ يعود إليه.

واليوم، ونحن نعيّد فصح يونان، نفرح بإلهنا الذي ينقلنا من الموت إلى الحياة، ومن الظلمة إلى النور، ومن الخوف إلى الرجاء.
خرج يونان من بطن الحوت كما من قبر، ونهض أهل نينوى من خطاياهم كما من موت. وفي كليهما نرى ظلّ الفصح الحقيقي لربّنا يسوع المسيح، الذي يقودنا إلى القيامة وتجديد الحياة.

نسأل الله أن يثمر هذا الصوم في كل بيت وكل قلب.
وأن يقبل الرب، الذي قبل توبة أهل نينوى، صلواتنا وصومنا ورغبتنا في النمو فيه، وأن يجدّد لنا هذه الأيام بالسلام والفرح في المسيح يسوع إلهنا.

“Great was the sin of the Ninevites, but greater was their repentance, for they overturned their city by their tears and rebuilt it by their fasting.”

As we conclude the blessed Fast of Nineveh; the fast of repentance, renewal, and rising again with the Lord, I want to congratulate you all from the heart.
Within these past three days, we walked together in the footsteps of the people of Nineveh: humbling ourselves, returning to God, and opening our hearts to His transforming mercy.

Just as the Lord looked upon the tears and repentance of the Ninevites and granted them life instead of destruction, so may He look upon every sincere soul that turns back to Him.

This fast is not only a remembrance of Ninevites repentance, but a celebration of God’s compassion; a compassion that never grows weary, a mercy that always welcomes every sinner to the Father’s house.

Today, as we celebrate Jonah’s Passover, we rejoice in the God who brings us from death to life, from darkness to light, and from fear to hope. Jonah came out of the belly of the great fish as from a tomb, and the Ninevites rose from their sins as from the grave. In both, we see a foreshadowing of the true Passover of our Lord Jesus Christ, who leads us into resurrection and newness of life.

May this fast bear fruit in every home and every heart.
May the Lord who accepted the repentance of the Ninevites accept our prayers, our fasting, and our desire to grow in Him and renew these days for us all in peace and joy in Christ Jesus our God
