In Shaa Allah, I will be partaking in the annual Kirkcaldy Central Mosque walkathon (around 20km) which takes place in Kirkcaldy on 28/07/24 in aid of raising funds for the new mosque. 🕌

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Charity does not decrease wealth. No one forgives, but Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah but Allah raises his status" (Sahih Muslim 2588).

Allah says in the Quran: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts into seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies the reward for whom He wills. For Allah is vast and knowing" (Quran 2:261).

**Significance of the 9th and 10th of Muharram**

The 9th and 10th of Muharram, known as Ashura, hold great importance in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized fasting on these days:

*"For fasting the day of 'Ashura', I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before."*
— **Sahih Muslim**

Fasting on these days commemorates the deliverance of Prophet Musa (Moses) and his people from Pharaoh. It is also a time to reflect on the sacrifices made at Karbala by Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.

May Allah accept our fasts and prayers, and may we draw inspiration from these significant days.
