St Peter's, Kinver

St Peter's, Kinver Christian faith has been been witnessed on the site of St Peters Church for over 1000 years and continues to this day. All are welcome.

The church is a treasured landmark which can be seen from all around Kinver. Its history is amazing it is a Grade 1 listed building. We seek to know and to do God’s will, and our doors are open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. We have services in church at 10.30am every Sunday, and have a look on this page for details of online services and special events.

Our North Aisle was completely rebuilt in 1976 replacing the Victorian north aisle which had not been well built and was in danger of pulling the entire church over. Designed by local Kinver architect, John Greaves Smith, the design of the North Aisle was hugely controversial at the time, but now it adds its own glorious contribution to our place of worship, as well as providing a well-lit hospitality area and views out over the village.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the North Aisle we will be having a special open day on Saturday 27th June from 11am until 4pm. On display will be photos, drawings and artefacts about the North Aisle plus cream teas on sale and rooftop tours (weather permitting!). Do join us!

We had a lovely first Woodland Evensong on Kinver Edge tonight, 26 people gathered to explore and reflect on the beauty of God's creation. The quiet sound of a raindrop falling on a fern frond, the remarkable variety within a single patch of grass, the industrious ants making their way up and down an oak tree, all led us into a deeper appreciation of God's world.
