I believe a definite sense of the Holy Spirit was in our church yesterday morning. Dave Batty preached on why Jesus came to earth. One of those reasons was because He loves us. Ephesians 4:16 says: "From him [Jesus] the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
We should love each other; it is one of the most important commands God gives us, in my personal opinion. Each one of us has a part to play. Whether that be leading the worship team, pastoring the church, serving teas and coffees, displaying the lyrics from the sound desk, etc. Every part of the church's body works in unison. If even one part doesn't exist, you can tell something is missing. Luke 15:4-6 says: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'"
To wrap this message up, every Christian has a role to play, whether big or small. In God's eyes, it's one and the same. We are to serve God in whatever role He sees fit. We do this out of love, just as He gave Himself for us out of love.
God bless you all, and I pray you have a wonderful week.
