During September we’ll be joining in with the ‘Season of Creation’ (https://seasonofcreation.org/) as a focus for our prayers. This year’s theme is ‘listen to the voice of creation’.
When was the last time you listened to the voice of creation? Why not step outside today... what do you hear?

Today is the anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta. A few clauses still exist in English law today, including this fundamental phrase, clearly based on the teachings of the bible. “To no-one will we sell or deny or delay right or justice.” This week let’s pray for those working in our legal system.

Whether you are a monarchist or republican, there is no denying that Queen Elizabeth II has served this country to the best of her ability for as long as many of us can remember, and so it seems appropriate to pray for the Queen at the start of this Jubilee Weekend. I have always liked our national anthem because – possibly unique among national anthems – the words can be sung as a prayer that God would bless her, and in the less well known second verse that she would in turn be a blessing to her people.

Our terrace and gardens have breathtaking views across Torbay and the woodland walks provide a natural place of solace. Our dedicated team of Christian staff are committed to serving you, making your stay special, and are prepared to respond to requests for prayer during your stay should you need it. We pray every day, worship every day, and are more than happy to assist you with your worship and discipleship needs. All guest bedrooms are comfortable and well furnished and most are en-suite. The Manor has specially designed rooms on each floor for those with physical disabilities plus a lift to access all floors. There are comfortable lounges and reception areas for relaxation together with a Chapel which is always open for prayer and meditation. Brunel Lodge is our self-contained self-catering building sleeping up to 18 people with mostly en-suite rooms. Set in its own lovely gardens is particularly suitable for those who want peace and quiet but access to local holiday amenities. Holly Cottage which sleeps 3-4 people is another of our self-catering units which has been described as a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in reviews on Booking.com.

We also have a Tea Room which is open to the public and locals can join us for Carveries by prior booking most Sundays of the year.
