PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 7th June.

This week is we are asked to think carefully about faith and generosity.St Paul says this; “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance,..so that you may share abundantly in every good work.”

Please pray for our Church here, and for Christ’s Church throughout the world, that our living and giving will be with generous hearts.Pray that each of us will be open to the promptings of the Spirit and seek to develop and use the gifts which He bestows on us to use in service to the Body of Christ. Pray that we will share our resources with joy, thanking God for our abundance.

Please pray especially that we will do all we can to meet the practical needs of our fellow Christians in South Rwenzori with their pleas for help with providing facilities which we take for granted.
Pray for the work of Christian agencies in this country and abroad, seeking to meet the basic needs of the victims of society in so many places. Pray for prayerful generosity with both money and time and skills.

Please pray for those caught up in the outbreak of Ebola and for all who are providing help and aid. Continue to pray for peaceful resolution of the wars and acts of terrorism which devastate the lives of innocent people, powerless to prevent the destruction of all they hold dear.

Please pray for our parish here and our neighbouring parishes, as we prepare for our new priest, Ann, to join us. Pray for all who minister to us and for all the small acts of service given quietly which enhance our community life. Pray that we will take time to reflect thankfully on the many ways that we are blessed by others and also think on our own callings.

Please pray for any who are ill or facing difficult circumstances. Pray that they will be helped in appropriate ways and find the strength to deal with the problems confronting them. Pray for the medical services and for all who have caring roles. Pray that they will be given the skills they need and the love and patience to help and guide those in their care.

Please pray for those mourning the loss of someone close to them. Pray that they will find the presence of Christ alongside them.
Please pray for one another that at this time of Pentecost, we will receive afresh the gift of the Spirit in our hearts, in our lives and in our world.

Pentecost and the great celebration of the birth of the Church! Here is a prayer for all of us; “O Holy Spirit, wind of God, gift of the Father, flame of love, create in our hearts a place where Christ may dwell. Alleluia!”

Please pray for our Church here, and for Christ’s Church throughout the world. Pray for Christian leaders, and especially our own team here, that their ministries will be guided by the Holy Spirit and carried out in His power. Pray that each of us will be open to the promptings of the Spirit and seek to develop and use the gifts which He bestows on us to use in service to the Body of Christ.

Please pray for a more peaceful world, and for all attempts to bring that about. Pray for those devastated by war, terrorism and the loss of family, friends and homes. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of those have power to bring peaceful settlements about. Pray for all involved in rescue and the bringing of aid and comfort.

Please continue to pray for our partners in South Rwenzori, especially as we hear more about their situation and needs this week. Pray for Christian love to grow and spread throughout the world, and for help to be offered wherever there is need.

14/05/2026

This week we are in the days of waiting between Ascension and Pentecost. It’s a special time of prayer for the blessing of the Holy Spirit. “ The Holy Spirit is the power to enable us to bear witness, the Holy Spirit is the presence of the living God in us and with us as we give witness.”

Please pray for the Holy Spirit to renew us all in power and exuberance. Pray for that power in our Church and for it to inform all our doings and encounters. Pray for our clergy and visiting clergy, that they will lead us with the joy and assurance of that first Pentecost. Pray for Tom on his travels, for Jane and Anthony serving us, for Ann preparing to join us. Pray for the leaders of our national Church and for our diocese.

Prayers for 17th May 2026

The Archbishop of Canterbury asks each of us during this time to pray each day for five people who we know and wish to meet with the Risen Christ. Please pray that in so doing we will be the hands of Christ to those who need Him.

Please pray for our government in this time of crisis. Pray that our leaders will be given the gifts of wisdom and a concern for the good of the whole community which they need. Pray for all who hold public office, that they will serve with honest hearts and diligence in the interests of all.

Please pray for peace in the world, and for all attempts to bring it about. Pray that world leaders will be aware of the sufferings of so many in the wars and conflicts we read about daily. Pray for everyone working to bring relief to the victims of war, and for the armed services trying to protect the peace processes.

Please pray for all who are burdened with troubles of any kind. Pray for the sick and for the bereaved. Pray that they will all find comfort, healing and strength. Pray that we will see those around us who have needs we can meet in the name of Christ. Pray for His blessing on all we try to do in His name.

PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 10th May

Eastertide continues and this week we remember the work of Christian Aid as well. Some words from Saint Peter’s letter might help our reflections; “All of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”

Please pray that, especially during this week, we will remember and support with our prayers and practically, the work done through Christian Aid. In particular, they ask for prayers for mothers struggling to feed their families in crowded urban environments in Kenya. Pray for families in all places in the third world where hunger is a daily struggle to be overcome.

Please continue to pray for peace in our world. Pray for all areas where warfare rages, for people divided by hatred or fear, and for all who suffer as a result of conflict. Pray for hope and peace in all places torn apart by senseless violence. Pray for world leaders to seek solutions which work for everyone.

Please pray for our Church here and for all who come and minister to us and support us. Pray for our new PCC, and for the meeting this week. Pray for love, kindness and good friendship to be the hallmarks of all our dealings with one another. Pray for the growth of our life together in Christ.

Please pray for our school in this final term of the year, and for all who are facing examinations and tests as the gateway to new ventures. Pray for good learning everywhere and for courage and trust as plans are made for the future.

Please pray for the sick and the troubled and for all who look after them and seek to bring help and comfort. Pray for those who mourn the death of loved ones, that comfort will be theirs.

PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 3rd May

Eastertide continues and we hear familiar words from Jesus as He teaches His disciples. He says “I am the way, the truth and the life. Noone comes to the Father except through me.” Thomas A Kempis reflects on this; “Without the way there is no progress, without the truth there is no knowing, without the life there is no living. I am the way you must follow, the truth you must believe, the life for which you must hope.”

Please pray that in our own reflections and prayers we will listen to
Our Lord, receive His assurances, allow Him to comfort our troubled hearts and remember His constant presence with us. Pray for our Christian growth, both for ourselves and for our church here. Pray for our leaders, for Tom on his travels, for Jane as she shoulders a heavy burden, for Ann as she prepares to join us, and for all who minister to us and help us.

Please continue to pray for peace in our world. Pray for all areas where warfare rages, for people divided by hatred or fear, and for all who suffer as a result of conflict. Pray for hope and peace in all places torn apart by senseless violence. Pray for world leaders to seek solutions which work for everyone.

Please pray for our families and friends, for neighbours and newcomers, for all we engage with in our daily lives. Pray for all who supply our daily needs, and who work for the benefit of others. Help us to live so that we show something of Christ’s love for everyone.

Please pray for the sick, the sad and the bereaved. Pray that they will find comfort and care and feel the fellowship of Christ’s Church to support them in their distress.

PRAYER LIST for the week beginning 26th April.

Eastertide continues and we hear the call of Jesus to us all, reminding us that He is both the Good Shepherd and the gate to life in Him. “Speak to us Good Shepherd, as individuals but also as your flock, your family, gathered here. May the bonds of fellowship that we share reach out to all.”

Please pray with thankfulness for our Church here, and for all who give service here for the love of Christ. Pray for our clergy, both the home team and our visitors, and for our new House for duty priest, Ann, as she prepares to join us. Pray for Tom on his travels and for Jane bearing heavy burdens. Pray with thankful hearts for the support of our Friends group.

Please pray for our PCC and for our Annual Meeting. Pray for willing volunteers to serve our community. Pray for our village and all the activities which draw people together in friendship and harmony. Pray for the future of our Pub, and for all who are struggling with difficult decisions and financial worries.

Please continue to pray for peace in our world. Pray for all areas where warfare rages, for people divided by hatred or fear, and for all who suffer as a result of conflict. Pray for peacemakers and peacekeepers, and for all who fear for the safety of loved ones. Pray for successful negotiations in the ongoing problems in the Gulf and pray for leaders who will listen to good counsel and act with restraint and wisdom.

Please pray for the sick, the sad and the lonely. Pray for those known to us individually and pray for insight so that we might see what we can do to help and when to stand back. Pray for healing of body and mind and for comfort and hope to come to all in need.
Please pray the Christ our Good Shepherd will lead us this week wherever we go, guiding us safely and filling us with His joy.
