The congregation left with a wee word challenge after our Pentecost service on Sunday.

The coming of the Holy Spirit was spectacular. It transformed people scared for the lives into empowered and empowering evangelists. The same Holy Spirit can be part of our lives today when we make room in our hearts and trust in the Spirit’s counsel and guidance.

We used Friday’s Christian Aid page alongside Galatians chapter 5 at our monthly Bible study today.

Nobody ate the banana but the Tunnock’s teacakes took a hit. 😋

These fruits cannot be eaten but neither can the fruit of the Spirit we will be talking about at our monthly Bible study tomorrow: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. Galatians 5: 22-23

It’s fruit of the Spirit, not fruits - we are called to nurture and grow each of these qualities. A big ask? Yes - but we have a big God on our side.

A not brilliant photo (taken through the car window) of a classic feature of the North Ayrshire coast. Of the many people who pass this every day, I wonder how many believe that ’Jesus saves’? The offer is for all, but it’s a choice. Those who believe are not better than those who don’t, but they are more blessed. Christians are not called to an easy life, but Jesus is the best travelling companion to guide and support us when the going gets tough.

We are supporting Christian Aid Week. This year the Bible focus is the Parable of the mustard seed. A timeless message of how with faith we can expect great things to grow from small. We might not always see the outcome of our gifts and acts of kindness, but when made in faith we can be sure of God’s blessing.

We don’t have children regularly but activity sheets were given out to the congregation to pass on or enjoy themselves!

‘We plough the fields and scatter’...still a popular hymn for the season of harvest but just as relevant to this time of year. Photo was taken earlier this week.

In our series for this month - Growing with God - we value God’s presence with us from our earliest days and throughout our life. He is the ultimate source of all that is good in our lives, including the good things that can by his grace come out of our hardest times.

Looking forward to starting a new series on GROWING WITH GOD tomorrow.

Somethings take a while to grow. These bulbs were bought and planted September 2025 and just flowered this week. The intricate centres of these narcissi remind us of the beauty and detail that is all around us when we look out and take the time to notice and enjoy. Sometimes, staying still is an important part of Growing With God….
