A warm thank you to David Elliott for joining us at Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church this evening for our monthly Monday Demonstration of Mediumship.

Thank you to David for giving his time to demonstrate mediumship for us, and to everyone who came along and supported the evening.

There was plenty of laughter along the way and it was lovely to see everyone coming together for another enjoyable evening at the church.

We hope everyone who joined us had a safe journey home, and look forward to welcoming you all back again soon.

A huge thank you to Jacqui McGleish for a very special day at Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church today.

Jacqui joined us this morning for her Spiritual Empowerment workshop, where we learned about our energy bodies and got the divining rods out to discover whether our energy was open or closed.

We experienced and practised healing with Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks, and Jacqui’s healing light/torch before finishing the workshop working in pairs sharing our own psychic and mediumistic messages with one another. There were some very touching and emotional moments, lots of learning, and plenty of laughter along the way.

Jacqui’s day wasn’t finished there! She stayed with us to lead our Divine Service this evening, sharing her philosophy, experiences from her own life and her mediumship.

One thought from Jacqui that particularly stayed with us was about trusting our intuition and being willing to let go when it tells us someone is no longer meant to be “in our car” for the next part of our journey. Sometimes we’re simply not meant to take everyone with us.

Thank you, Jacqui, for giving so generously of your time, knowledge and experience today and thank you to everyone who joined us for the workshop and our service.

And finally . . . Jacqui also advised us that Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church’s page really needs more cats.

We always listen to the medium. 🐈😂

Do you need to be a Spiritualist to come to a Spiritualist church? 💙

The simple answer is no.

You don’t need to be a Spiritualist, sign up to become a member or know anything about Spiritualism before you visit us.

Our doors are open to everyone. You might be curious about Spiritualism, interested in mediumship or healing, or simply wondering what happens inside the building you probably pass all the time without really noticing.

There’s no pressure or expectation, you’re very welcome to come along and experience it for yourself.

Some people come because they have lost someone and hope that their loved one may come through the medium with a message. Others come for healing, the philosophy and the words shared during the service. There can often be something within the medium’s address or the reading that resonates with you, even if you don’t receive a personal message from the medium.

If you’re thinking about coming for the first time, here are a few things that might help:

💙 There’s no dress code.

💙 You don’t need to let us know you’re coming to our Sunday service, just come along.

💙 There is usually a committee member at the door to say hello.

💙 If you’re coming on your own and would feel more comfortable having someone meet you outside, just send us a message beforehand.

What if I have mobility difficulties?

If you’re looking at the photograph and thinking you’ll never manage those front steps, don’t worry. There is another entrance at the rear of the church, accessed through the car park at the right-hand side of the building, for anyone who has mobility difficulties or uses a wheelchair.

What happens during a Sunday service?

Our service follows a similar format each week. The medium opens in prayer and we sing a few hymns during the service. There is a reading and a quiet moment when we send healing thoughts out into the world.

The medium gives an address, sharing their thoughts and philosophy, followed by a demonstration of mediumship where they bring through evidence and messages from loved ones in spirit.

There is a freewill collection and we’ll let you know what’s happening in the church over the coming weeks. After the final hymn, everyone remains standing (if able) while the medium closes the service in prayer.

At the end, we ask everyone to remain seated for a moment to allow the medium to leave the platform before making their way out.

And you don’t have to rush home afterwards! ☕

Healing is available in the healing room downstairs after the service, and there is a chairlift available if you need help getting up or down the stairs.

Tea and coffee are also available, so you’re very welcome to stay for a cuppa and a chat.

🕕 Sunday Divine Service — 6pm

Doors are open at least 30 minutes before the service and close at 5.55pm so that we can begin promptly at 6pm.

We ask that mobile phones are switched off or put on silent with vibration turned off during the service.

If you’ve never visited Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church and have a question you’d like answered before coming along, leave us a comment or send us a private message through the Page. 😊

We love to see new faces and look forward to welcoming you to the church. Our committee members wear name badges on lanyards, so if you have any questions while you’re here, you’ll know who to ask.

A big thank you to Derek Anderson, who travelled from Dundee to serve Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church at our Divine Service tonight.

We enjoyed a lovely evening of mediumship, with great evidence and thoughtful philosophy shared during the address at the divine service. Derek reminded us all to live life to the full.

It was lovely to see so many new faces at the service and to hear from the loved ones in spirit that Derek brought through.

Thank you to Derek, for making the journey to Kilmarnock and for giving his time to serve our church. We very much appreciated having him with us. 💙

And thank you, as always, to everyone who joined us for the evening.

📢 The Spiritualists' National Union are pleased to announce the election of Minister Julia Almond to the position of President of the Spiritualists' National Union!

Minister Almond brings a rich, diverse history and a wealth of experience working within Spiritualism and the SNU at church, district and national level. She formerly served as Vice President of the SNU, and will doubtless bring her vast knowledge, passion and years of service to the Presidency.

Please Note - In accordance with the Union's byelaws, Minister Almond will assume her Presidency at the close of the 2026 SNU AGM in September.

Finally, we extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to Minister Jackie Wright, who has tirelessly and passionately served the Union as both Vice President and, since 2022, President. Her commitment and dedication to Spiritualism, to supporting its churches and to reforming and modernising the Union and the AFC has been unwavering.

Please join us in thanking Jackie for her service and dedication, and congratulating Julia on her election. 🎉👏🌻

💙 Have you ever wondered what happens at a Spiritualist church?

Perhaps you’ve passed our church on Old Mill Road, followed our page for a while, or thought about coming along but weren’t quite sure what to expect.

You don’t need to be a Spiritualist and you don’t need to have been to a Spiritualist church before. Everyone is welcome.

If it’s your first time coming and you’re a bit nervous just reach out and we can get someone to meet you at the door and show you where to go.

Our Divine Service takes place every Sunday at 6pm and includes philosophy and a demonstration of mediumship.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing a little more about what happens at Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church and answering some of the questions people may have before visiting for the first time.

If you have any questions of your own just pop them below.💙

A heartfelt thank you to Martin Jones, who travelled all the way from Bolton to serve Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church at our Divine Service last night.

We enjoyed a lovely evening of mediumship, with good evidence and thoughtful philosophy shared during the divine service.

It was also wonderful that Martin joined everyone afterwards for tea and coffee and took the time to chat with those who had attended.

Thank you, Martin, for making the journey to Kilmarnock and for giving your time to serve our church. We very much appreciated having you with us. 💙

And thank you, as always, to everyone who joined us for the evening.
